just listened to the demo :

sounds deep and convincing,...and all in all, I’m amazed by the quality and responsiveness of the features
:o
too bad that it is an AU only plugin
:(

Sounds very good! Looks nice too.

I wonder if UVI will release SPRING soon 😃

Well, U-he's got a spring on the way too. Maybe this is the dawning of the age of spring reverbs.

Id like to know how it compares to Springbox, Spirit Reverb or Necklace :)

as far as i can see,

although it is physically modelled all parameters seems to be automatable in real-time ?

Hi, Michele from Physical Audio here ... thanks for starting this thread! Regarding your question, some parameters on the interface can be changed and automated in real time: the decays, the spring level and the input level. All the other parameters will trigger a system reset, because the algorithm has to compute the parameters for the new spring.
We are also working on a AAX version of PA4 as well as PA1, and we count to have that ready in the forthcoming months ... hope this helps!

Here's a link to the product page https://www.physicalaudio.co.uk/PA4

Price is £39 which is about $52US based on todays rates and usual CC premium.

I have many spring reverb plugins: 5-8 of them (I've lost count). I heard a rumour that UVI is coming out with one and also u-he based on the Bazille reverb.

I have many spring reverb programs as part of Nebula as well. I suppose I should think about a comparison video...

That is certainly the direction where Physical Audio wants to go (cross platform and multi format). Our philosophy from the beginning has been to deliver products with the least amount of issues. When we launched in April, we decided to begin with a single format (AU), to start adding more and more formats as we grow. There isn't a particular 'philosophical' reason why we can only offer AU at the moment, just purely technical.

I've been comparing P4 to a bunch of other spring reverbs I have. Namely:

Overloud SpringAge
Various Nebula 4 programs (Cupwise, TimP etc)
Agean Spirit
Softube Spring Reverb
SKNote Necklace
AudioThing Outer Space

and so far I think P4 is quite capable and convincing. I am almost ready to say it sound the best out of the bunch in terms of capturing that spring reverb sound. It also has a lot of flexibility. More testing... :phones:

VST please?!! This sounds really good!

I have Overloud and Softube spring reverb plugins, as well as 2 tube amps with real (and excellent) spring units built-in.

I am thinking that P4 is now the best spring reverb I have heard from a plugin...

I've used a couple spring-reverbs in my haydays and still own a MasterRoom spring reverb(my spring of choice), but that demo sounds really good - it blends very nice with the source. Also interested in the parameters, seems intuitive and flexible. So add another +1 for VST support.

Does anyone find it incovenient that PA products including this spring reverb function only in low sampling rates?

What?? No way! .... Oh. Yes way. Deal breaker.

I harp on the issues of not all devs support all sample rates and get flak from some people who think my concerns are unfounded - this is yet another example of it. Bad form when it comes to audio tools. I push my work into 96k whenever I can. But I often get hampered by plugins that prevent this. I try work-arounds, or asking the dev to fix it. Sometimes I have no choice because there are no options other than 44.1k.

Yet another trap for young players. The mine field of audio software!

Thanks filulilu for the warning! I was about to buy it! :phones:
