Whereas I often yearn to be free from the trappings of the daw. It's just a shame I have zero clue what to do with all this modular shitemholloway wrote: Fri Nov 16, 2018 5:59 pmBut until I can load it inside Ableton, it's useless to me.![]()

Man, if I ever get enough money together for a new PC, VCV Rack is the thing I'm looking forward to the most. My craptop just can't handle it.
VST support is not something I'd really need, neither as a plugin nor as a host, but it will certainly be a cool feature to play with!

It's not that hard to learn if your willing to check out some tuts on youtube. Once you know the basics, the learning curve gets better. The community is great also on facebook. Omri cohen's vid are a must check also.

Cheers! I actually recently subscribed to Omri's channel, and was thinking of asking him to recommend a path through his videos that might be a good introduction for a complete VCV/Modular noob.paradiddle wrote: Fri Nov 16, 2018 7:04 pm It's not that hard to learn if your willing to check out some tuts on youtube. This guy is a goldmine of info on modular systems and he's certainly willing to help anybody. He's a nice chap.

Cheers! I wouldn't ask unless I was sure I would at least give it some effort. I will see if I can find some of his stuff that uses free modules only, and go from there.paradiddle wrote: Fri Nov 16, 2018 7:41 pm This guy is a goldmine of info on modular systems and he's certainly willing to help anybody. you know the basic layout of a synth?
oscillator/filter/fx/output...
the rest is just modulation really.
once your comfortable there, just plug shit in!!!
seriously, once you get past the "why wont it make any noise what so ever?" bugs newbies have, its easy.
the major benefit to software experimenting as well is, you are not going to blow anything up
