Right on for going open-source, but I'm not so sure about the GPL used. I tend to stay away from GPL code in general, but in the case of a server or engine I can see the use for it.
I just thought there was a better version of it. I didn't see a license file, so I'm not sure of the version?
I clicked on the link which pointed to the v3. It's a really nice DAW and I hope people start to build with it.

It's GPL/Commercial, so you can release open source if you want - or you can use one of these licenses...
