70 percent off the Elka Panther is a scam, no more, no less. Ample proof that almost nobody bought at the original price.
No more business with General Music in Finland. Ever.
/Joachim
EDIT:
At first I thought it was spam, but on Nov 22 I got an email purportedly from General Music, stating that they were refunding me (an early adopter of the Elka Panther) $62 USD.
I didn't think much of it, but today I checked my bank account and there was a refund equivalent to the difference between my early adopter price for the Panther and the current BF 70% discounted price.
This is a gentlemanly behaviour! I hereby retract my above comment, offer my appreciation and will be happy to do business with General Music in the future.
Kind regards,
Joachim

I see it as a welcome price adjustmentSpitfire31 wrote: Thu Nov 22, 2018 10:37 am 70 percent off the Elka Panther is a scam, no more, no less. Ample proof that almost nobody bought at the original price.

...because I never believe whatever companies say about their product sales, unless based on official financial docs, any other "info" about that, to me is always and inevitably strategic marketing-speak.
My only comments to this 70% OFF sale pricing are:
1) It's very welcome. It'll surely/hopefully help with growing the user/customer base.
2) I even honestly think it's now too low but hey, not complaining!
3) Still think the original price is too high for what's being presented as V1.00, but we've discussed this already (which makes this 70% OFF even more drastic and head turning ...and almost awkward)
4) It may be seen as a slap-in-the-face on early-adopters :/ ...which might be the only downside on these sales, especially so soon after release and with such a drastic price cut.
That may teach/influence some prospect (less hard-core?) early-adopters of future products (which I hope will happen) ...but, again, those will need a more polished+sophisticated (G)UI+UX, if priced like similar (but more evolved UX-wise) products.

I don't know if it's a 'general feeling', obviously. But IMO, the Panther has its own, interesting and sometimes blessedly impolite character. It's got a sound all of its own, not like any other combo I've come across.

So, I've scratched my 4th comment because it doesn't make sense, in light of this turn of events

Tempting? I'd say it's a no-brainer! As I said, I'm actually considering it even a bit below of what would be expected from a sale of this productsimmo75 wrote: Sat Nov 24, 2018 7:12 am This is tempting at 70% off
What’s the general feeling about it performance wise?

Out of interest, do they allow license transfers?
Dunno about license transfers. Good question.

Anybody here know if the license is transferable?

Thanks for your interest. The license is non-transferable. For license transfers you need some online activation server to invalidate the old license. It was the only sacrifice we had to make to meet the "No dongle or online activation" protection we strongly believe in. So now if you buy a license the plug-in will keep on working even if FastSpring goes down.
