Second - a few tips:
The kick: watch out for bass and low mids - in that range it's competing with the bass, and often when you think a certain genre needs lots of lows, maybe the opposite is the best. Especially in metal genres the kick often needs to be cut quite a bit in the lows. Give it a boost at a higher frequency to get that metal click instead! Compression for the kick: don't set the attack too fast, but release can set very fast.
The snare: compression is you friend. I often use a couple of different compressor on the snare alone. EQ wise the snare can take a lot of highs in metal.
Hihat: don't be afraid to cut heavily with the eq. Sweep around to isolate the ugly sounding frequencies.
Overall: use compressors on the kick and snare individually but also bus all the drum tracks together and use a compressor on the bus to make them sound more 'together'
Reverb: try to experiment with putting a compressor after the reverb on a send bus!
Hope this helps you
Kind regards
