Best of...your Black Friday weekend haul?

At the beginning of this year, I budgeted $350 to get some things that I needed. I didn't get everything that I wanted, but I got a lot of stuff--almost all on sale. I picked up the following:
Translator 6 Pro
A new SSD hard drive
Kuassa Caliburn
XotoPad
TX16Wx Pro
Thesys
DrumDrops Drumkits (x3)
Samples from Mars (Everything bundle for $39)
I went a little over budget ($361) but I estimated that if I bought everything at normal everyday prices it would have cost me about $1500. The Samples from Mars Everything bundle would normally cost about $1000 by itself. I'm not sure I'll use everything. It looks like there are lots of synth loops. But the sampled instruments will more than make up the cost of $39--easy!
Overall, I had a pretty good haul. I probably won't be able to get anything else until my birthday or father's day, so I had to make things count.

Thanks! Yeh, I'd be using it in KK too. Hope he fixes it. I'm on the fence about SLOR even at the sale price...aMUSEd wrote: Fri Nov 23, 2018 7:13 pmI bought that too but it has a few bugs in Komplete Kontrol that render it useless in KK - I can use it as a Reaktor effect still and it does sound amazing, but would like to also be able to use it in KK as I can SLOO.killmaster wrote: Fri Nov 23, 2018 6:19 pmI'm curios what you think of SLOR? So far I am loving SLOO from Tim Exile - highly playable and extremely mad - and with full NKS integration it does crazy things with my S Series keyboard lightguide.

Lovely old British compressor emulation...
an alternative to the well worn LA2/1176 type of thing.
Can be a dirty old b4std if pushed.. tried the demo on a couple of loops.. instant buy and was not even on my radar.

Amongst quite a few others, BlueCat MB-7 and Late Replieswill get the most regular use
- Thomann had a great sale price and so far I am very pleased with how good they are
and also updated Melodyne to Studio - the improved audio editing is incredibly useful to me
I held back quite a bit this year - I've spent a lot over the last couple of years since I retired from a "regular" job and now just work on interesting projects (paid and unpaid). There aren't that many sound libraries that give me more than I already have, I don't want anymore synths, so FX are about it and I am now covered for everything conventional.

Update from my previous post, I just caved and purchased the update to the full output instruments. Only other thing that I am interested in has not been released yet but we should see a beta in a few weeks (uhe Spring reverb).

That was also my main unessesery purchase, I certainly didn’t need it, but the price was to tempting....it added Rev and Brass form and all the preset packs.....plenty to play with!patchhunter wrote: Fri Nov 23, 2018 10:37 pm Update from my previous post, I just caved and purchased the update to the full output instruments. I actually thought I had overcome GAS, but ended up caving and updating my old Studio One licence for a silly amount which I intend to replace logic with when I switch platforms on the death of my current and last iMac. I also picked up the Toontrack EZkeys string machine and Dream Pop MIDI....so all up, less than $100 and some handy gear...
