William,
With the changes in the communication options, what is best for you as far as reporting. Do we continue here or on the home page?

Yeah, I was questioning myself that too...Cakreshvara wrote: Thu Nov 22, 2018 10:23 pm William,

I'm already working on the SF2 problems, fixed for the files you sent me. But now I'm getting some annoying clicks on the loops and I can't figure out why. SF2 is a bit different, as it has a buffer with all sounds one after the other. So I think I'm cutting and trimming the samples in the wrong way, somehow...

Just checked 20/11 Engine.
No problem installing (very fast).
But problem:
Set up a multi with say instance 1 'xxx', instance 2 'yyy' Save multi as 'test'.
Load 'test'.
Remove all instances...left with 'test' showing in the instance slot 1...should read 'xxx'.
By the way, wouldn't it make more sense if 'remove all instances' took slot 1 back to init?

Soundfonts...lots of problems.
Some crashing REAPER when loading.
Is EVE V5 loading the samples into RAM or is it Direct from Disc?
Let's face it, a lot of old soundfonts have problems anyway.
William, do you have a big sf2 collection to do lots of testing on?
I can see this being a nightmare...lot of work, partly just to learn the sf2 spec properly and then to work around other peoples mistakes.
You say you're cutting and trimming the samples...so EVE is not just working as a sf2 player?....you're doing something else here?
I keep feeling that I want to be able to bypass the Amp envelope just to hear the samples as they are (or is that not the way these things work?).

William, I think you'll find this worth reading:

Follow his links as well in 'The Tests' and 'Test Results' sections.

Thanks for the link, I'm reading it now.
Fear not, I already got all the SF2 files here working. Just need to fix the shared-sample problem, not a big deal, just takes time.

I got all fixed, just having a hard time with the compiler now, but nothing I can't fix.
BTW: some portions of the new support thing wasn't working correctly, now the Find Order are working and new orders emails too.

Finally!
Nov 23 2018 - V5.0.0 BETA 72 (I forgot to update the about box, sorry) Windows only for now.
- Fixed problems with SF2 files, including bad sample data.
- Fixed problems with multi-preset files.
- Added a volume drop for multi-preset instances, the more instances the lower the volume, to avoid distortion.

I downloaded and installed Wusik Engine. It took 33 minutes to complete the installation. Fortunately, the installer is friendly, so I kept working on other things while it was doing its job.
The Multi preset that I have been using loaded corrupted (with just three sounds and all in Omni just like the last time, despite I didn't save it). Anyway, I was able to put each sound in each own channel and load tow more, in channels 4 and 5. I saved the Multi and quit VstHost.
BTW. In "About EVE" I still read 1.0.0.64. It seems you don't update the umber in there for a while now. You really should change the numbers in each build.
I then loaded REAPER (VST3i). I just installed the latest version (963), which installed in a couple of seconds, BTW. Loaded the Multi. It loaded OK. I was able to play each channel. However, when I clicked over the preset on Channel 5 to edit it... KABOOM. Crash and REAPER was brought down together. I then changed to VstHost, and it also crashed as soon as I tried to switch between instances.
So, we are back to the point where we can load instances, but we can't touch them, once there.
Regarding the installation, don't know if that matters, but I am in Windows 7. I will test tomorrow an installation in Windows 10.

William,
Like they say over there in China or wherever they say it,
You are da Man...
The sf2 files are all loading without crash.
Load time is quite long, maybe over a minute for the likes of CrisisGeneralMidi, the thing about 1.6 GB and an acid test. TX16Wx loads about in realtime. SampleLord takes about 15 seconds. Few people will be loading GB sf2 fonts however, and the main thing is that EVE can now handle the scrambled codes.
I read Goldglob's link and there is truth in this. A real hassle for you to have fixed the sf2 response, but sf2 is still alive and relevant, and only makes EVE more powerful to draw upon this resource.
Uh... looks like second attempt to load Crisis in TX16 crashed Reaper. EVE a bit slower but can handle it. So looking at do I want a fast load and a crash, or slower load and it works.
Also to Fernando, the installer here with win 10 just takes a minute or so to complete. Will dig into win 7 to see if there is an issue there.
JohnK
wanted to add that after the initial load of an sf2 bank, the individual instrument load is immediate. No lag time there. Everything working rock solid.

23-11 Engine.
Installs super fast.
The multi preset thing I described above (copied below) is still the same:
Set up a multi with say instance 1 'xxx', instance 2 'yyy' Save multi as 'test'.
Load 'test'.
Remove all instances...left with 'test' showing in the instance slot 1...should read 'xxx'.
By the way, wouldn't it make more sense if 'remove all instances' took slot 1 back to init?"
Another multi preset thing:
Say I have instance 2 open, then I make the mistake of trying to load a multi...OK I get the warning that I can only load a multi on the first preset layer , but then when I click OK, sure, the new multi is not loaded but its name appears in the instance slot!
JohnK......Re sf2: CrisisGeneralMidi301 (1.57 GB) loads here in 40 secs compared to just a few secs in TW16Wx v2. Seems like EVE V5 is loading the whole thing into RAM upfront whereas TX just loads individual instruments as you choose them. (REAPER's performance meter confirms this).
I'm still finding problems with various sf2 instruments...weird clicks whatever (but yes, I don't expect miracles with all this!).
One really weird one: CrisisElectrGndPno (in CrisisGeneralMidi301) plays about 50 cents flat! (OK in other players).
Regarding VOLUME:
Wusik Station and Wusik One with init preset have master vol at -6db but EVE V5 master knob with init preset is straight up..default should be lower.
Furthermore, EVE V5 master knob seems to have a strange gradient...E.G in WS V9 the knob at 10 oclock is about -6db, but in EVE V5 the knob has to be way down (almost off) to get around -6db.
.
