An issue: Although we now have a folder location called Multi Presets, a Multi Preset is still saved under Presets\Multi, NOT in Multi Presets
EDIT: the second time it saved under Multi Presets. It seems that if we used the right button click it saves under Presets\Multi, but if we click over Browser, it saves in the correct location.
Another thing: Volumes are still way high. This is something that needs to be corrected overall in EVE. EVE globally speaking plays way too loud. IMO you should reduce gain by around -12 dB for the gain stage.
I had to reduce the volume in each instance to alost minimum to have some manageable gains in each sound inside the Multi.

Tested in REAPER (I had tested in VSTHost previously), both VSTi 2.4 and VSTi3 (64-bit). Both worked OK. Each channel played as usual. Multi was the one I created in VSTHost, and it loaded perfectly. I was able to change between instances, and adjust FX and gains.
Only one issue, If I load a Multi and start to play and EVE, somehow, didn't finish loading the Multi, I get stuck notes. A panic button somewhere in the GUI could be handy for situations like this.
Other remarks:
1. Volumes, globally speaking, are too loud. EVE gain (volume) should be reduced by at least 12 dB.
2. AO presets are downed in FX. It's OK - I understand it's a matter of taste, and I can easily fix that, but I think they would improve if you reduce the FX amount drastically.
Other than this (and maybe SF2 issues that still subsist), I think you can start working on the library now, to officially releasing EVE. As soon as you prepare a Mac installer, I can give it a try too.

Wow, great work William, I won't break out the champagne just yet but getting closer!
One thing, your factory multi 'Multi Preset Test' still has the problem of loading its name in an instance slot. Just needs a re-write I guess.

fmr, immediately after saving a multi (whether with right click browser panel or just left click on browser root) it won't show in tree (anywhere) until tree is refreshed...yes?

Well, I can't say for sure. You may be right. But that's not the main issue, IMO. The issue here is that I have now the Multi (I hope it's the same, can't say for sure) listed in two locations in the browsergoldglob wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 2:56 pm fmr, immediately after saving a multi (whether with right click browser panel or just left click on browser root) it won't show in the tree (anywhere) until the tree is refreshed...yes?

William, the soundsets background colour thing is great (reminds us that soundsets are not presets), but I see a problem.
Clicking 'Add New Instance' collapses then expands the tree...we see 'Soundsets' highlighted with its colour which (damn it) could lead a user to load a soundset instead of a preset which is what the colour thing is trying to avoid!. So how about also having 'Add New Instance' and 'Presets' (just the folder name would be enough) share another colour say blue.

Select #11 music box (still has background distortion BTW).
Now select #12 Vibraphone...sound changes to vibraphone but program popout stays open and still shows #11 selected. Similarly with other programs around these numbers...leads to crash eventually.
BTW William, why did you change the program numbers?

William, re the 'pandora's box' (or is it 'can of worms'..probably both) that is SF2, is this of interest to you?

As we know, SF2 is a nightmare, but look at Falcosoft BassMidi VSTi...64 bit, current, free, plays old soundfonts without any problems, so there is hope.

Now you lost me, sorry, I didn't really understand.goldglob wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 3:22 pm William, the soundsets background colour thing is great (reminds us that soundsets are not presets), but I see a problem.

Most MIDI devices I know uses 1 to 128, not 0 to 127, for programs at least. And Exterme Sample Converter does that too.

Sorry, yeah these things are hard to explain succinctly.
My previous suggestion (which you implemented) was to have 'Soundsets' folder and soundset Layer slots associated with a colour..great.
Now I'm suggesting to do the same sort of thing with 'Add New Instance' and 'Presets'...have both blue for example. That would associate instances with presets.
The irony is that my original suggestion was intended to remind us when adding an instance that we should be looking for presets (not soundsets), but because the Soundsets folder is now highlighted this might have the opposite affect...we select 'Add New Instance', the tree collapses then expands and we see Soundsets folder highlighted which might make us think that's where we go to load an instance. Let me know if you don't understand, I'm happy to try again, it's a good exercise for me to try to write clearly.

No need, very clear now, I'm just slow today.
Had to go downtown to do several things and that place dries my energy out... I will try to do just that, as you said, nice idea.
