goldglob wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:13 pmBTW William, why did you change the program numbers?
Most MIDI devices I know uses 1 to 128, not 0 to 127, for programs at least. And Exterme Sample Converter does that too. :hihi: But if you guys think I should do 0 to 127 is not a problem, I can change.
I'm no MIDI hardware expert but my MIDI keyboard (M Audio Axiom 49) sends prog numbers 0-127.
And the standard GM prog numbers start at 0, yes?
But EVE doesn't respond to program numbers anyway...is that right? So no point in changing the numbers?

.....And say I load into REAPER a standard GM classical guitar MIDI part..it automatically chooses prog 24 in a standard GM soundfont player, so having nylon guitar as prog 25 in EVE seems confusing and pointless anyway?

I find very inconvenient when in some software where I use PC I have to think pc 3 is for synth 4 not 3. It would be much better if pc4 will be synth 4 but they probably didnt think of that when they made midi specification. Also in Kontakt scripting you must remember that slot 1 is marked as 0 etc.
Naming 1 as 1 is more user friendly. My 2c

Post

... but if it should start from 0 by GM specification or something then...

Guys, check this out. From the GM specifications it starts from 1. What do you think?

New file uploaded, Windows only for now.

Ok, so here's what changed.

No more presets/multi folder, move your files to data/wusik eve v5/Multi Presets
That's the folder for multis now.

I fixed a few things as reported. Haven't done the new colour ideas yet, will do tomorrow.

I added Save Current Instance Preset and Save Multi (all instances presets) options when you have more than one instance in the project. What do you guys think about this names?

Cheers, WilliamK

That all sounds excellent...actually just the other day I was thinking 'Hmm, when a multi is loaded I can't save an individual preset'...problem solved!

........Thinking more about it, "Save Multi (all instances presets)" might be slightly confusing...it could be interpreted as saving individually all the presets that make up the multi. I think just "Save Multi Preset" would be fine.

But then you get things like this (see attachment). And as EVE is not a GM playing instrument anyway, it seems pointless to go to the trouble of changing the numbers? But I wonder what others think about this?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Still getting a granular, fast Hz distortion on the sf2 Music box. So far however, trying to recreate the Reaper crash moving between fragile files of the past, and nothing will crash.

Request from previous for a panic button, and this would be a good idea.

Was also trying to revisit the fx options and how one fx could take out another if the wet/dry knob were engaged, and can't get that to happen anymore. Don't know what good happened between here and there, but works way better. Will report back on this if I can get a good example of interference.

Problem with the third party vst/vsti support still goes back to the single location for dll's. More complex installations need to have their location carved in stone to access secondary files. This restriction may or may not cut the lifeline of the plug at different levels of malfunction.

Examples are Alchemy synth, which at first goes belly up until you can locate the data folder for the sound files. Then works. Amplitube 4 however will load upon copying the dll but nothing happens as a stranded dll somewhere that it is not supposed to be by design.

Realize that many users will not be relying on third party plugs, but this is a powerful tool. Since EVE opened the gate with a common folder for dll's, can we take it next step to a good conclusion. If not too difficult, can we have a manage files option to add some more vst/vsti paths.

John, late here, so I will read your comments again tomorrow.

There's a panic option if you right click the Wusik logo. ;-)

Panic button there under what's left of my nose.
Thanks William

The musical box has a weird loop, and doesn't play well on lower range. But from what I hear is mostly the sample itself that is problematic, right?

No, I just loaded it in RGC Audio sfz player...bit of backgound hiss when turned way up but actually fine. But in EVE is really loud spluttering distortion (but yes, sounds like bad loop).
