Alternative to midisnoop?

I run Linux and used to rely on midisnoop to troubleshoot MIDI problems, it was really perfect for that. All it did was to display incoming MIDI messages with indication of channel and note/CC. Sadly, it has been abandoned for a long time and won't run on newer installs. Does anyone know of a Windows application that will do that? If there is any, I can run it with Wine.

MidiOX can do that, but no idea if it will run using Wine, worth a try maybe, supports some really old Windows versions.
