It is insane how these two big DAW companies with biggest content ( Cunase, Logic)make it so difficult for thelr content to be placed anywhere easily. Just have a preferences item that you can select where the factory content is like Ableton UVI etc

Well I've finally found a happy place.
I tried the link thang again and failed.
Went through and gutted the pc of all Steinberg files/programs.
Found the install folder (obviously I didn't delete that else I'd have to download again).
Started the install but actually paid attention to any offers of alternative folder locations. I have to say that people who state you don't have a choice are not looking that hard.
Bottom line is I had free space on my C drive in the low 70s and now I'm well in the 80s and much happier. I didn't have to use the Steinberg Library thing as I had already chosen a location on the E drive.
The guy who looks like a cat wasn't being silly.
Grum.

Thanks for the info Jan & Grum. Definitely helps me out for later on in life when this arises again. There is no way in hell I want to mess around with this on the "big boy" but I think I want to revisit my laptop and conquer this once and for all.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints in the Steinberg forums about bugs and crashes with Cubase 10. Anyone experiencing this? I'm using 9.5 and it's very stable so far. But releasing a super-buggy new version is a turnoff for me just in terms of who I choose to do business with.

No problems here with Cubase 10 or with doing business with Steinberg.rlared wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:53 am I'm seeing a lot of complaints in the Steinberg forums about bugs and crashes with Cubase 10. I've only once gone with a low-decimal-pt version of Cubase, 5.0.1 and it was buggy (real-time export, eg). I bought SX2 after SX3 was released, I bought C9 at the end of 2016.
I'm going to wait and demo 10 when they have that together. 10.0, nossir. Historically this has shown to be a bad idea unless you're into a sort of beta test mode with a machine that isn't your production machine set aside for it.
A lot of problems that are supposed to be bugs are not things I've ever experienced, but there are some bugs which never get addressed until the next paid release if ever. Bugs are known issues, universal, Cubase problems per se.

I was auctioning drum loops from the sample content while the track was playing (to find a complimentary drum loop) and Cubase locked up - it kept playing but it was totally unresponsive. Task manager to the rescue!rlared wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:53 am I'm seeing a lot of complaints in the Steinberg forums about bugs and crashes with Cubase 10. Anyone experiencing this? No problems here either. Steinberg forum is ALWAYS mostly bitching and whining but then again so are most company forums.

I upgraded from 9.5. Install of 10 went without a hitch.
Started tweaking a 9.5 project in 10. Also went well until a crash. Still not sure why, but it might have had something to do with me not rebooting after completing the install.
In any case, it's been several days working on the same project and no other crashes.
Liking 10 so far, but haven't really taken advantage of the new stuff yet. And what's with the ugly gray splash screen?
Cheers

Think Logic got it in the last update, yeah, it's the first on the list:andypryce wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 7:23 pm It is insane how these two big DAW companies with biggest content ( Cunase, Logic)make it so difficult for thelr content to be placed anywhere easily. This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

I've heard there are issues with Output Substance and Cubase 10, causing Cubase to crash when opening a patch in Substance. I'm upgrading tomorrow and will test it out myself.

Depends on the forum. From what I've seen, Cubase and Cakewalk had the most company bashing. Reaper, Reason, and FL Studio have very little company bashing. But yeah it definitely applies to Steinberg's forum, which is why I figured I'd come on here and checkgravehill wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 3:49 pm No problems here either. And yes, it installed the Reverence content. Which it may need, I don't remember.
