I have a very old fame tweak 49 midi keyboard that have endless knobs.

but in a DAW the knobs are absolute and send the value the display on midi keyboard show even if i move a knob with the mouse or load a new sound that change cutoff. as soon i rotate the knob 1 step, it jump back to old value and increase or decrease step by 1.

i think the DAW need send the value to the midi keyboard(if a parameter of a connected knob is change) and the midikeyboard need update the value of the knob. but no DAW send the controller see on midi monitor

so my question is. is this same on other MIDI keyboards with endless knobs ?. is it possible that values not jump and only increase or decrease 1 step, when change sound or change a value with mouse ?

I think the advantage of a endless knob is that it can in theory decrease or increase values without jump in value.

How do you assign the knobs? The DAW cannot know if its a dec/inc knob or a normal knob that moves from 0 to 127... Any DAW should be able to deal with it. I have a stupid keyfadr from Reloop, which renders the endless knobs completely useless, because they do not send inc/dec but translate it to 0 to 127... The fault might be in the controller as well. Too many vendors of controllers are dilletants...

No, the DAW only needs to know whether it'll receive relative (say +/-1) or absolute (0-127) number from the controller and it will adjust the parameters accordingly.

You've not mentioned what DAW you're using, but for example in Live when you manually map a knob to parameter you can choose from relative or absolute in several. In some other DAWs the expected input needs to be specified at the level of the script that translates controller input into actions.

In reaper there show always absolute and i can not change this setting. really seem my keyboard is too old and do not support relative. i think absolute mode is useless but if a keyboard can switch to inc dec, then it is ok. thanks for info, when i buy a new keyboard i need look in manual if there is setting for inc/dec
