started breakdancing and rapping when i was 10
was in a couple of groups back than. we performed in youth centres and at parties. After that rapped in some underground house acts in the mid 90`s ..

started making music again in 99. I bought a k2500 and a pc and started singing in 2000 .... influinced by the sting cd brand new day and a pile of funk and jazz records i bought when i was young (bought with the intention to sample them but i never did)

after that the kvr years began
I don`t think my music truly reflects what i feel yet But i know without donkey tugger / kriminal / beardedone / bloodhound / jdg / matias and polymerick and anakha and wopelka and bluedad and paula etcetera - mainly everyone who showed me i could write or be creative ..... i wouldn`t have had the zeal to continue so thanks for the time and positiveness and the lovely songs ! I have a long way to go ! thanks for all the lovely storys and sep ! thanks for once being inspired by some of my songs - it`s the biggest gift.

Problem is - I feel like I've lived at least three seperate lifetimes since getting into music at the local Folk/Blues club in the 60's.I was mixed up even then, finger in one ear singing 32 verse ballads, trying to play'Angie' and 'Needle of Death' and such like and trying to do Robert Johnson stuff on the side.

Did the busking thing round Europe (First stop Reeperbahn in Hamburg) and then in London, squatting and busking.

It was always acoustic guitar and folky stuff with me though although I played electric in a working men's club covers band for a bit. And I did have an Atari ST and Steinberg Pro 24 at one time.

I played solo and in duos mainly in folk clubs and most recently ( last 10 years in a couple of Irish Folk bands and currently a band called Wildwood, playing Appalachian old time, Steve Earle and John Hiatt etc (not quite slick enough for bluegrass)

Also rehearsing a new band, again acoustic but with a couple of incredible multi-instrumentalists so it is going to be totally eclectic.

Did I forget to mention computer music? Well, I've played about with it over many years but only recently had the desire to jump right in and use the computer as the mainstay of my music production. So, I'm here to learn and I have definitely come to the right place.

One of these threads again ...seems like every year we come up with new variants on this same theme, but what the hell...here's mine once again. I'll try to keep it concise, but I usually fail whenever I try that...

Started with formal piano lessons at age 7...that was 34 years ago, so I've been at this for a while.

Started playing guitar and bass at age 15; bought my first synth, an ARP Odyssey (still have it) at 16.

Starting playing professionally with numerious local club-bands immediately after graduating high-school in 1981; continued doing this all the way until 2002....most of the time playing various music styles I really didn't enjoy much.
During this long stretch of time I played on several forgettable small-release albums, wrote and recorded the score for several low-budget independent films.

Arround 1996 I grew totally disgusted with how overly image-conscious the music industry is and "retired"...at first giving up on music altogether and focusing more on my interests with the visual end of the spectrum (graphic design, 3D animation, etc) as well as software engineering and development (for me, much easier way to make a living than as a full-time musician ).
Then, more increased focus on computers and software in general eventually led me to music software and all the wonders it holds...so I came full-circle in a way.
In 2002 I decided to give up on playing live gigs anymore (just prior to that I made a half-hearted attempted at a comeback in terms oif playing out with local bands again...ugh) and to focus on recording my own music instead.. And here I am.

Only I now focus 100% on writing and recording the music I truly enjoy, either by myself and with people I enjoy working with...after spending way too many years working on music I generally hated, with musicians I had zero in common with (both on a creative and human level as well...) in the unholy pursuit of "making it big!" and "ooooh, maybe getting signed to a major label!" at all costs...I finally learned my lesson and now make music because I enjoy it.

Interestingly, my latest and probably most satisfying music accomplishments have happened in just the past couple of years since I went "north of forty" (to quote Red Green ), including working on some very enjoyable album and recording projects with people I like and admire, and learning a new instrument (Chapman Stick).

So far, I seem to be out to prove just how true the old statement about "Life Begins at Forty" really can be.

All About The Wooly Loach:

Started playing guitar at 15 to get girls, ended up wanting to spend more time with my axe than women! Played in some garage bands doing rock/metal stuff and some blues. Added bass playing at about 26, then synths at 32. Started out recording by playing along with an ancient Oberheim drum machine (remember those?) into a Teac 4-track reel to reel which actually worked pretty well.

Started getting into computer recording with a U20 and Digital Orchestrator on an IBM PC. Was married to a singer/guitarist at this point so we would play together here and there, plus recorded at home. She took recording lessons and started heading into sound design.

Seperated from the (now-ex) and got Cakewalk, began working strictly solo and handing out CDs to friends. Got depressed, sold guitar, bass, and synths and managed to be music-free for about a year. Thrashed and vacillated and ended up where I am now - two solo music projects, purely keyboard and vocals, hoping to get an indie album out before I die! I'm 45 so I think I have enough time left to pull it off.

I left out a lot but that covers the music side of things.

73: Born
then a long break...

89-ish: starting fiddling with my parents electric piano or whatever that piece of junk was.
On the Amiga 500 I got my eyes opened to music production. Did all those Protracker/Soundtracker/Noisetracker etc.

91: Got a Roland E-15 (arrangement keyboard) and got it hooked up with Dr. T's KCS; a sequencer which supported 16 MIDI channels I believe. WOW.

96: Started using Cubase as my keyboard teacher had showed it to me. That was amazing. And that was even before VSTi's.

99: Moved to England from Denmark to persue fame and fortune.

04: Uses an even better version of Cubase , but still no fame and fortune. Has picked up guitar playing as well, but concentrates on programming and production.

Now: Wastes a lot of time on certain VSTi related websites writing biographies.

errr... long story short...

was born ... parents figure im some sort of child prodigy... get a tutor... graduate college with 2 degrees before most people graduate highschool... open a recording studio... goes under because IRS f**ks me over. In the process of reopening under a new monicker. In college to I worked as a computer programmer doing chess software (one of the highest ranked programs at the time), and later some database shit in Linux asm/C. Just recently got into win32, ahhh what a pain.

Oh yeah, in there met my wife Wendy and we've always been glued at the hip. We worked together long hard hours doing various things to finance ourselves.. not using a bit of "credit" or loans or anything. We've been around quite a bit tho we're fairly young. Lots of hard work and a lot of hardships and A LOT of book reading.

So errr... Yeah, it's all fuzzy in between. I just turned 22, wendy recently turned 18 and I can proudly say we've done more in those few years than many people do in 3x as much time.
