Yep, that's what keeps me coming back, nothing else sounds like it and its sound is done to such a high degree of quality, and I tell you what, this thing would look phenomenal sitting next to repro. I'm giving it serious thought right now. Made the tremendous mistake of actually demoing repro too ... its like looking at puppies, you already know whats going to happen. its just that the 80$ update was a little unexpected.

Go and try the filters of the Oberheim OB-6.

The filter is only one aspect of a synth. I remember people complaining the OB-6 wasn't very different from the Prophet-6. The rumour is Dave Smith just stuck an Oberheim filter onto his existing circuit designs.

Anyway Dune 3 also has really good filters. Synapse Audio improved their filters alot after the development of the Legend. It really is impressive.

O.k. after diving in and made some presets i upgraded faster than i thought.
It was €69 (including tax) for me and i think it´s a good price. Beside it might looks quite the same it has many added gems here.
It is not perfect and of course i miss a few things but that could i say about most of my tools.
It also runs good so far for me, no crashes in Logic and Mojave yet.
The presets are really good (i just like the KS cinematic sound designs).
It´s actually for me the most flexible non modular synth (but it has a kind of semi-modular mod-matrix).
Running things at audio rate is what i like. CPU usage is good for me as well for the sound quality.
So i´m a happy user, end of story!

I spend some time playing with the demo last night and it didn't take long for me to buy it. A definite Improvement to Dune 2 and some amazing DSP programming. It sounds great. I was hoping for some Aiyn Zahev sounds but it looks like I will have to wait for his aftermarket soundset(s). I would also like to see more skins, but I am sure those will be coming eventually from Satyatunes and others.

Will Dune 3 be finally released or will I have to torture puppies ?
