After a few days i just love Dune 3. It will be my goto synth together with P900 (at least as long as i don‘t need microtuning).
The new EQ is just awesome, especially when you start to modulate it.
You can use it as filter as well and so you could have 6 filters (plus the FX post or pre or between filter) per layer :)

Nice overview by Venus theory:

Sadly he doesn´t use it right sometimes in the video....
Otherwise nice overview.

Ah, there is quite some time at the beginning where nothing is happening. That's why I thought there was something wrong :)

Check out the patch "Synapse Audio RH" found in the SFX folder. That's one of the most interesting Wavetables I've heard for Dune and seems like it would open up a lot of possibilities for more complex sounds like full choirs etc.

I'd love to see more WT's of this type. I'll try making some here but I'm no WT Wizard so results may disappoint.... :?

It seems like a (good) resynthesis of a spoken phrase. However, the single waves don't loop well (at least here - I tried to play asingle wave form the wavetable). I have to dig deep into it. But by maybe export one or two of the more formant rich waves, and edit them to loop perfectly may be enough to create a good choir wavetable. I'll give it a shot and see what I can come up with.

It´s nice but just works good within the set pitch.
Icarus is much better for these things (not sure about Serum but while i like the GUI Serum is my one of my least favorite wavetable synths).
I think the wavetable editor in Icarus is also the best yet inside a synth but i find the one in Dune 3 more joy to use. I think the math/algorithms input offers infinite way to add interesting stuff here. If i just would be a math genius :)
I still like (even since Dune 2) the default wavetables the most interesting and usable for my personal usage. I also like the new added interpolation setting. While i always found that Dune 2 already is the most smooth here (but that might be just my flavor) it´s great to have the choice from steppy to fluid morphs.
Well, and while it´s version 3.01 i have the feeling there might be some things added to the editor in the future.
Of course some resynthesis options would be the icing on the cake for me and some more import options. However, Dune 3 is for me by far the best wavetable synth....and of course it´s so much more.
So thank´s to the people here which provided all the default wavetables. I really love them.

Yes it's a great resynthesis of a spoken phrase. It most likely done with Import WAV (Fit to Wavetable) or (Adjust Wavetable).

So if it can scan a spoken phrase and return a passable result then a choir sample (or others) might work as well. I'm thinking about taking FL Studio's Speech engine, creating some phrases and see how they work in D3. The individual Wavs are not really important it's the Table and the Scan that is the key.

I think the patch is a perfect example of taking D3 to new territory that D2 couldn't explore. Something to work with going forward. :)

The original idea was from some wavetables that I sent to Richard. It's basically groove slicing text-to-speech waveforms. I've done similar with drum loops and other musical loops.

I posted these earlier in this thread, but they got lost in some OT nonsense.

This one contains wavetables based on text-to-speech synthesis:

This one uses wavetables created from drum loops:

I think the idea should expanded upon. The concept and that patch itself is a breath of fresh air. The common WT's are all starting to sound samey to me not just in Dune but any synth I own that only allows short duration waveforms and the tables they create.

In my opinion this is a perfect example of how the new WT Editor in D3 could be used to create new sounds instead of just making old sounds easier to make....... :tu:
