There are some specific types of tools I’m searching for, but without knowing what’s on sale I can’t make an educated decision or prioritize what it is that I’m going to buy. I’m looking and researching as well, but already several things have been posted that I wasn’t aware of. I’m sure there are many more. 🙂

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Ok so shortlist what you want and ask about those specifically. If it’s not on your shortlist you’re wasting money IMO.

If you feel up to the challenge....

High quality commercial SFZ instruments on sale. Especially rhythm guitars with the ability to play down/up strumming with mutes, sustains, etc. That works well in the alternative/New Wave/Indie/Trip-Hop/DownTempo Genres. I want something that sounds great when run through a clean amp and lots of effects. Additionally, I’d love a 12string guitar.

I’m also looking for any sfz sampler instruments for atmospheric/drone/cinematic/rhythmic/texture type sounds.

I’m looking for great synths and effects for making my own atmospheric/drone/cinematic/rhythmic/texture type sounds.

I’m looking for synths and effects that use only a serial or key file copy protection.

I’ve only got $50 and and it’s the season for sales so I’ve got to prioritize. So I’m trying to learn about everything that’s available. I’m doing my own research as well, but this thread proves that there is a lot that I haven’t been aware of. That is why I’m seeking assistance from this awesome community.

So, rather than judging me for wasting my money and derailing the thread, maybe you could help me? 🙂 I’m worried that time will run out and the sales will end and I’ll either have to save up more money or wait six months for a summer sale to try again. 😜

Please everyone, post if you know of a sale! There are probably others who are interested as well! 🙂

can't go wrong with a wavestation or mono/poly...
Can a single vst be purchased, or must one buy the whole collection?

I just researched it—it looks like the answer is yes. However, it uses C/R copy protection. Are there any similar synths that use just a serial or key file?
