Guys, good news...
Aodix v4 is being developed by arguru.
Arguru is the original creator of renoise, the creator of several famous buzz machines , the coder of DiscoDSP Highlife , Vertigo and Discovery. ( Discodsp products are made by george and Arguru )
He had many other creations which I probably didn't mention here.
Anyway, Back to the good news...
Arguru is working on Aodix 4 with a developer called Zafer.
Planned features :
- Soundtracker interface, zoomable, free quantization, realtime event recording (automation, midi, whatever).
- 64-bit event driven sequencer with capabality for more than half million of events, from MIDI events to automation events, or pattern events.
- It was written from scratch, pure win32 (no mfc).
- No osx versions planned yet.
- First soundtracker based in timestamped events, instead classic (obsolete) matrix grid.
- Exclusivelly VST2.3 Host (no dx, etc).
- Modular rout (up to 256 instances per project).
This is going to be a shareware, price will probably be in the range of 60 euro to 100 euro.
There're some screenshoots of an earlier version (few weeks old):

More info will come in www.aodix.com
Just to let you know : I'm not related to aodix or to arguru in any way. I'm a guy who loves his work and he sent me all the above info in pm and I asked for his premission to post this to the public.

I loved Aodix and still use it in order to play with VSTi on my laptop. Great news!

in my book, that's a marvelous feature.Scr1pt3r wrote:(no mfc).
now if all the other audio developers would make win32 apps without mfc. Oh darnit.. most of them do.

This sounds pretty good, and from arguru its got to have some potential.
I love tracking, and a decent buzz replacement would be loved by many people. I'll be keeping an eye on this one

The quote is :
I assume from this that Aodix 3 was written with MFC and version 4 is not, thats why he mentioned that.- It was written from scratch, pure win32 (no mfc).

Great news. I use both Aodix and Psycle, and this seems to be the best of both and a lot more besides.

Well, one thing for sure. This gets my hopes high.
I used to work on all the trackers which existed because I've been making music for 11 or 12 years.
Started with Whacker tracker ( 4 channels ), then Scream tracker ( 16 channels ) , then Impulse tracker ( 64 channels ) and a bit of Fast tracker.
Then came buzz and Psycle.
Eventually I left the tracker aside. Why ? Because after buying Monitors, Radium 61 Midi Keyboard, Creamware pulsar sound card... having to deal with software bugs such as Psycle crashes, wont load certain VSTs and etc. and etc. seemed unreasonable to me.
So thats why I moved to cubase.
Later out of no where Aero studio appeared, I had high hopes for it but it is barely crawling, I cant work with it in its current situation. My Midi keyboard isn't supported there right now ( its a bug in Aero ) , It doesn't have ASIO support and will crash on lots of VSTs.
So until I heard of Aodix the only thing for me to wait to check it out was renoise 1.5 BUT now I dont have to wait to anything, Aodix is coming soon
