The thing is that i´m tired of all those feature update madness
which comes arround. I can´t really focus on what is neccessary.
I chose SW since 2012 and ...

... with features and i don´t see the wood for the trees.
... do offer for upgrade. A vicious circle.
... I´m really unhappy with the situation and i think i will
give away the accounts and be free again.
Hoooyeah, I understand. :dog:

After all, maybe you should go back to hardware? :?:

There are so many second-hand hardware synths - and so many
new multitrack-SD-card recorders.

With these devices you'll never have any attempt to upgrade or
change your system. There'll be no seduction! And it will be all
easy and fast.

I know of people who still use an Atari for production...
A better choice would be to get on Linux and use Ardour. Then never update... Should cover you for the next ten years unless you want to access KVR and the Internet...
As always you would have to live with the bugs.
But in general an open source project has no need to add features for the sake of marketing, they add features which are needed and usually keep the existing work flow untouched...

I don't think you can fix your own neurosis by changing to another system. Things constantly evolve, that's life. It's your own choise if you want to keep up with the times or not. There are plenty of people in this world who set up a working system and then just stick with that, for decades. Why not simply set up your own things this way? Make a working system of what you already have and then ignore all updates and upgrades? If these things really bother you so much it may be cathartic to "disconnect" from the net for a while and just concentrate on making music.

If I understand you correctly, I think that's what everyone would want:

A DAW and an OS that works correctly, does everything you want, and never needs to be upgraded.

Well we recently retired a 21 year old Digital Alpha workstation - and in computer terms 21 years is as close to immortal as you'll get :-)

It was still working fine, just reached the point where it wasn't worth the power to keep it going (since I'm sure my smartphone has more computing power nowdays)

So anyone know of a good free daw that runs on early 90s digital unix :borg: :borg: :borg: :borg:
