HI,
I use a a m-audio 1010lt pci card. Its pretty good but i have problems with feedback loops from computer noises as well as buffer problems. Pretty much has to stay at 128 bits for no latency. My friend told me about the RME cards and using a analog digital converter like the Behringer ADA8200 .
I did not really see any other set up that looked this good. Anyone have any opinions on this type of set up? pros and cons to what i have now. will i have better results with latency? Just trying to get an idea of how to optimize my recording set up.
thanks

Pros: The best audio interface I've ever had (Windows, Fireface UC)
Cons: Not cheap
My experience: audio interfaces under Windows are a bit of a gamble. The only non-RME one that never gave me any issues was the Edirol M16DX... but I wanted more outputs than a stereo pair.

it just seems like the audio interfaces have bottleneck issues, and firewire seems kinda of a dead technology. any experience with the digital ADAT stuff?T-CM11 wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 10:30 pm Pros: The best audio interface I've ever had (Windows, Fireface UC)

Nah, it's just crappy drivers. 16 inputs & outputs should work fine on USB2...zoogoo wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 10:36 pm it just seems like the audio interfaces have bottleneck issues, and firewire seems kinda of a dead technology. any experience with the digital ADAT stuff?
A Behringer ADA8200 has been on my shopping list for a while now. For the moment I use the M16DX for extra inputs via SPDIF - soloing channels when recording.

Feedback noises and computer noises, as ground loops may occur with high end audio gear. First check and try to fix the electric problem : use a ground filter, try to plug different parts of your gear on different wall plugs, ...
You can't always get what you waaaant...
