Since development is slow since Live 10 is out (Not much change for almost a year) They should be working on something serious

I voted for VST3/MPE but, that’s more of a wishlist thing more than anything else. I can definitely see Ableton adopting MPE soon because they may be losing market share to Bitwig. VST3 may or may not come as quickly. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already but, Ableton really haven’t expressed any interest in moving that way. I wonder if there is some kind of royalty that Steinberg charges for VST3 that makes it less appealing?

It was nearly 5 years between Live 9 & 10. There was usually at least 3 years between the earlier paid updates. Sure, I am just guessing but, it’s not exactly a shot in the dark or anything

It's taken all that time just to get it fully working and it's still very sluggish

Live 8 to 9 was 4 years... that was in part because Ableton had to put development on hold for 1 1/2 years due to user outcry from all the bugs...

Before Live 9, Live averaged about 1 - 1/2 years between major upgrades.

The reason Ableton could wait so long between 8 and 9 and then 9 and 10 is due to Push 1 and then Push 2 sales. I think most people with Live already have a Push if they want one, so my guess is that within 2 years of Live 10, will be a paid 11.

I'm so glad for that. The core application of Bitwig has been improving as much in 1 year as core Live in 4 years. That is one of the reasons I stopped using Live. The core app changed very little over 10 years.
