If you mean when you create a preset from the init patch, then normally ENV3 is initially set to modulate Filter 1 cutoff.

Yeah, I know that.cb8rwh wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 5:48 pm If you mean when you create a preset from the init patch, then normally ENV3 is initially set to modulate Filter 1 cutoff.

Because the lowpass is 24dB.Ghost Dog wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 6:05 pmYeah, I know that.cb8rwh wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 5:48 pm If you mean when you create a preset from the init patch, then normally ENV3 is initially set to modulate Filter 1 cutoff. What I meant was, when you close down the cutoff completely in every way, you still hear a sine wave when you play the really low notes.

You're not wrong I'm just testing it now C3+ it's silent but go down towards C0 and it starts to output volumeGhost Dog wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 6:05 pmYeah, I know that.cb8rwh wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 5:48 pm If you mean when you create a preset from the init patch, then normally ENV3 is initially set to modulate Filter 1 cutoff. What I meant was, when you close down the cutoff completely in every way, you still hear a sine wave when you play the really low notes.

If you init Spire, any choose any filter, keep in mind that Cut 1 is automatically pre-assigned to Env 3
However if you remove Cut 1 from Env 3 mapping, and let's say choosing "Perfecto LP 4", and crank the Cut all the way down (0), the Sawtooth might not get passed through the filter at Mid - high keyboard range, but it would definitely "leak" a little bit in lower octaves.

Yeah, but, you will have better luck here: https://reveal-sound.com/plug-ins/spire ... e-base/220
They rarely look into issues in their KVR forum.

Oh. So it's actually normal?phreaque wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 6:29 pmIf you init Spire, any choose any filter, keep in mind that Cut 1 is automatically pre-assigned to Env 3

Let's say it's just Spire own characteristic. It might be differ than other synths, but it makes sense, LP filter usually cuts lots of high frequencies while allowing (some) lower ones to Pass.

It .... could .... be, but i can't really tell whether it is, or not.
Maybe it's just the way the filter is tuned (it allows for some low frequency signal to pass, whereas the filters in other synths would cut everything off)?
