What Did You Buy For Your DAW In 2018 ?

Personally I bought very little...there's been nothing in the way of musical hardware, keyboards or audio interfaces, no PC upgrades (although that's barely changed in years anyway, but I know it's something I'll need to bite the bullet on soon), and it's only been in the past month that things have have got interesting software wise. January sales might change that in regard to hardware for my PC, whilst buying more software probably isn't as tempting as that might be. So what did I buy in 2018 ? Well...there's no guessing what happened DAW wise as most here know... but I did pickup Native Instruments Form, which is a petty simple but fascinatingly powerful sample mangling instrument, which I had not downloaded and tried till last month, and from as far as I'm aware, the first time it was half it's usual price.... If you head over to the instruments forum section, you'll find a large set of new GUI's I created for it, you can download for free.

So in all for 2018, spent £105 on music software, but saved £125 if I had spent money on these things at any other time.

I switched from FLStudio to Live. Comparing raw power, FLStudio eats Live for breakfast, but if we compare workflows and integration with controllers, Live wins easily.

I'm not trying to bash FLS or something…. I just felt like a change would do good to creativity. I know FL like the back of my pocket hand :)

Ableton Live does not support UHD resolution at all. As long as you don't need it, Live will be fine, I guess…
(I have Live 9 lite and it just squares the pixels on my 4K Screen. Although Live seems to be vectorial?)

Just a couple of IK Multimedia sales. Got Syntronik relatively cheaply (not really impressed), and the TrackS group 10-4-1 deal. I'm happier with that than than Syntronik. My big expenses this year were non-DAW related hardware (amp and gee-tar).
