Simple....Logic´s included arp and Cthulhu sometimes. Otherwise i love some iOS apps as midi controller, sequencer, arp. So much more fun and immediate to use. Even using 4 or more different arps at the same time is more fun on multi-touch (if you just don´t want to trigger them all at the same time in the same way).
Most MIDI FX on desktop are terrible in terms of workflow and GUI and unflexible for live tweaking.
But there are some gems in the Reaktor community like Spiral or Nod-E (or how it´s called).

Apps like ThumbJam f.e let you use 4 (or even 8 on bigger iPads?) different arps (with a drop feature i miss in many simple arps) where you can control and/or play them all individually (you also can split midi channels of course) and each can have it´s own scale or you can do thing like glissandos manually in 100´s scales of your choice. Then you also can add MPE to it etc.
While i prefer mac and there are some more powerful tools it all feels so dated and old in terms of workflow and sometimes simpler tools with great GUI for live performance is better than a million features hidden in menus and whatever.
Apps like Patterning or Quantum are just more fun to use. In terms of midi control i think iOS devices are so much better to any desktop tool i ever used. And there are coming more advanced tools soon which are for sure more fun and more easy to use as something like Numerology......and way way cheaper as a good side effect as well.
The best "static" arp which i like the most is just the one i got with Logic. It´s really good.
I mean i guess most major DAWs comes with a similar tool these days.

Reaktor: Already available as an AU MIDI FX, SO many interesting and unique MIDI devices (some all time favs in the User Library: Motion Clusters, Adlais, Rifflab…)

What i miss in AU MIDI FX that i can´t f.e. use the modulator to modulate other midi FX while it works with all FX and instruments automation parameters.

Uhhh, thank you very much. Funny that i only tried it with some which didn´t work and thought i can´t use the modulator to modulate other midi FX in general.
So i learned something simple after using it for years, lol!
Makes it much more powerful now for me as well.
Also funny that i just explored the keyboard mapping for live performance in the Logic arp some time ago while it´s there for years too.
RTFM (read the f**king manual) should be rule number one.
Oh and thank´s also for the link to the digitalaudio plug-ins. Just saw them the first time.
I hope they offer a Logic MFX version?
They actually looks very flexible and more important the GUI looks usable as well for me (which is the main thing why i hate Numerology).

I have both Riffer and Obelisk, but never thought about running the former into the latter. What is the benefit of doing this - doesn't Riffer already constrain its output to a selected scale?

+1 for an iPad MIDI thread. I just rehabilitated an old iPad specifically to run iOS MIDI apps into my modular setup, and would be very interested to learn what is available and recommended.
