You misunderstand me. I am selling my plugins (as it’s my right to do so) because I’m tired of Waves’s ways.fishy scott wrote: Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:21 pmI have never had a reason to sell or transfer anything from Waves, maybe that's half your problem. Trying to buy plugins on sale and then trying to resell them when they're not on sale is a silly idea to begin with.trtzbass wrote: Sat Dec 22, 2018 9:28 amYes it’s their own interest to do so. And use that excuse to charge me money while making me jump through hoops. Example:fishy scott wrote: Sat Dec 22, 2018 3:36 amWaves takes piracy seriously, the reason they are strict with their policies. You should take your handling of your licenses seriously too, it's only fair.trtzbass wrote: Sat Dec 22, 2018 12:57 am Yeah - I loved Waves better when they didn't try to turn me into a cash cow.
A lot of their money making practices are based on artificially creating problems where there should have not been any, including charging you for retrieving your licenses from a computer you can't access anymore (if it happens more than once a year) and forcing you to dig deep into the website to find the offline installer to feed Waves Central if you didn't keep up with renewing the license for their latest updates. It's all the little things that put together give me the impression of a company that doesn't look after me.
I'm selling my waves account, now, and can't wait to get rid of them as fast as I can. I shall miss some of those cool plugins, but I've had enough.
There are dozens of other brands that produce plugins that are just as good, for which you pay only once and you authorise / unauthorise from everywhere in the world where you can access a browser.
I’m trying to transfer a license for one of their plugins to a person who bought it from me.
We are in the third day since I sent my request and they didn’t acknowledge either me or the other person. Of course I had to pay money to reinstate their support plan, because why wouldn’t you take the chance of milking me for more money? Then of course I’m paying also 10% of the value of the plugin, as a transfer fee (which is the only fair bit of the whole transaction)
And still, you can torrent cracked versions of all their plugins.
I’m all about fighting piracy, but they are just being unfair because they can.
Read their polices before purchasing and learn about what you're buying into, before complaining that you didn't know.
Everything is well documented and ready to be read, understood properly and fair.
I started buying their plugins 15 years ago. Things change. As a customer with a much broader perception of the market and how developers deal with the same issues with a more buyer friendly attitude I find the money the ask for the upkeep of their licenses is preposterous and over time I have come to dislike their attitude. My feeling is that as a customer their products are not worth my time and money. If that’s not the case for you, then fair enough.

So anyway i got it to show up in Reaper. My real question is wether or not Waves uninstalls the demos automatically i can't really tell itd be great if they did. That alone would make Waves central really good.
Now i gotta find my socks. H Reverb blew them off somewhere and it uses 4 times less DSP then Halftime.

Waves does not automatically uninstall plugin demo's after they expired. Waves Central also has no option to uninstall a single plugin.
The easiest way is to uninstall all plugins using Waves Central and then re-install again, it will then re-install only the plugins you actually own. This has the benefit that your waveshells will be renewed so your DAW will see them as new plugins and scan them again.
Note that this method only works if all your Waves plugins are V10. If you still own V9 plugins you need to download the 3GB Legacy installer here: https://www.waves.com/downloads/v9. You then have to manually select which plugins you wish to install, just select all the V9 plugins you own. After that is done you can run Waves Central to install all your V10 plugins.
The other way is to manually delete the corresponding plugin folder. In Windows these folders are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V10. No idea about Mac since I'm not using it. Your DAW will still show the deleted plugins using this method, so you will need to perform the same tricks you used to make your DAW see newly installed Waves plugins.

I'm asking this because i need to install and license H-Comp 32bit and v10 has dropped support for 32bit...Reefius wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 9:40 am Waves does not automatically uninstall plugin demo's after they expired. Just out of curiosity, is there a more ridiculous method of installation than this? Just wondering because I can't think of any other plugin company that makes the process of demo and plugin install/uninstall so painful.Reefius wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 9:40 am The easiest way is to uninstall all plugins using Waves Central and then re-install again, it will then re-install only the plugins you actually own. True, but I'm not talking about that. Just referring to the process decribed. If I wanted to do exactly that with any other developer. Is there one that is more difficult? Not many, if any, ah ah, ah ah, I don't know anybody.W23 wrote: Mon Dec 24, 2018 11:15 pmWell, there isn’t much love for iLok, or Gobbler eithermorelia wrote: Mon Dec 24, 2018 10:59 pmJust out of curiosity, is there a more ridiculous method of installation than this? I guess Waves just wants you to upgrade all your plugins to V10 so you can simply use Waves Central. But that still doesn't solve the uninstall problem.
