Great! Thanks for the super fast fix

That was pretty much what I had in mind. Not sure what VAZ Pulser does though. I looked a pic of it, but couldn't see.Gone soft wrote: Wed Dec 26, 2018 2:03 am [Something that has a pulse/gate time and a modulation input for pulse/gate time as well please.![]()

Dan is more qualified to comment on this than I am (he's the DSP guru), but with that said, I believe the reason many developers avoid 96kHz is because there's a large hit in CPU overhead and general speed. It may be possible that we could offer the option, but I don't want to "talk out of school" and say it can definitely be done with the current Voltage platform.Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed Dec 26, 2018 7:49 pm Well it’s definitely fun and easy to use. It has the same issues that Softube and everyone else seems to have with aliasing regardless of the samplerate I use. I don’t really understand how any of these companies can’t do what Nord could do 20 years ago with what I think was only 96k. Their oscillators sounded great with deep audio rate modulation and it allowed for some amazing high frequency noises that turn just into white noise in almost every softsynth. I might grab it up anyway as a more useful go to than Softube modular.

Yes please offer an option. It's good UX to "give the user control and freedom". It would be great to have a setting for real-time rate and render rate. See Cytomic for an example.cherryMitch wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 2:53 amDan is more qualified to comment on this than I am (he's the DSP guru), but with that said, I believe the reason many developers avoid 96kHz is because there's a large hit in CPU overhead and general speed. This is a very instructive video on aliasing by Leonardo, author of the Vult modules:
You'll see at the end how problematic FM is at 44.1/48k.
Saturation and waveshaping etc is very prone to aliasing too at low sample rates.
My *personal* theory on Softube's sound quality/high CPU is that it is the result of oversampling.
Definitely good to have the option, as plexuss says.

Perc EG = perfect
good for triggering resonant filters for kicks too
thanks

96k isn’t really enough either. That’s why I’m curious about why every soft modular doing this. I cranked my soundcard samplerate up to 192k and almost every modular softsynth still acts bizzarly When trying to modulate a sine wave with like heavily filtered noise or a delayed copy of itself with a ring modulator in the feedback loop. I dunno if it’s clipping in the modulation signal which is causing the modulation signal to alias, or if the item being modulated is aliasing . It’s strange though. And it is surprising how similar all the synths sound with the same kind of setups.cherryMitch wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 2:53 amAh_Dziz wrote: Wed Dec 26, 2018 7:49 pm Well it’s definitely fun and easy to use. I also joined the Voltage Modular Club. Pretty new to this game.
I have a few questions:
* Is there a way you can label modules as patching goes all over the place.
Like an enveloppe can be used for the amp, for the filter. A oscillator can be used as such or as an FM source.
Can you label modules (like AMP ENV, FLT ENV,..) and in general make patches more insightfull by grouping them in some way like is done in a non-modular synth.
* It would be nice if you could add notes the explain the usage of the patch.
* I saw a patch where an the output of an oscillator is routed to the frequency mod of another oscillator. Is this the common way to do FM or what are other common ways?
My goal here is to introduce FM possibilities as in the Arp Odyssey.
Thx for your advice.

You can type notes on the blank panels. Although not ideal, you could put a blank panel beside/above/below a module and use that to lable the model (less practical the more modules used)Stefken wrote: Fri Dec 28, 2018 6:10 pm * It would be nice if you could add notes the explain the usage of the patch.

Where do we communicate bugs etc? I used the contact form just now to document a Logic project rate change bug with VM. Not sure if thats the right place. I looked all over the site and it wasnt clear where to report bugs.

Would be good if everything you own showed up in the store. Its close but ignite showing unpurchased makes me wonder if there is something in there not included in core.
Intel Core i7 8700K, 16gb, Windows 10 Pro, Focusrite Scarlet 6i6
