i think if ppl do find possible bugs, they should post them on the SA forum, with full details of how to reproduce. Any such reports (especially vague ones) will get lost here, even i cant keep up to pass them on, so Rich def wont find them all.
Feature requests:
its worth asking, but dont expect anything/everything to be implemented (the official forum actually says "dont expect a reply from the developer" but Rich seems much more receptive these days)

I've posted a ton of bugs over there. So far I haven't had one reply in nearly a week. It's been over xmas though so I am just hoping the lack of response from the developers is temporary.AnX wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 5:53 pm i think if ppl do find possible bugs, they should post them on the SA forum, with full details of how to reproduce. So if just one person has a use for something, that's enough to justify including it? Hardly. When you have limited development resources, and Synapse is just two people, you concentrate on the things that everyone will benefit from, or at least can benefit from if they want to. You leave the outlying stuff like this to the big companies with resources to burn.Cinebient wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 6:21 amIt´s fine if you have no use of all this but that doesn´t mean others could not use it.
So show me an example. From the way you talk, you are only interested in theory but Rich is a practical guy, he makes synths for people to use to make music, not to satisfy some theoretical possibility.Especially on the very high close to inaudible highs some synths can achieve very interesting textures and harmonics if you add resonance and saturation to it.
You don't get "cream" at 20kHz, you get piercing, screeching horror.I also get much more "creamy" and full strings and organ sounds if i can stretch the OSC over so many octaves.
Well aren't you a pathetic little nobody, then? I can't imagine what kind of complete loser would put people on something as lame as a "foe list". Do you really have so little self discipline that you can't simply skip a post by someone whose opinion you don't value? Surely garbage like that is for 7 year olds? However, it anyway makes no sense to prove you anything or try to explain it to you since you are mostly on your ego trip and while you are anyway on my foe list i opened your post this time.
Of course, when you refuse to offer an example, everybody has to conclude that you are talking out of your arse and have no real point to make.
It's not about what I think, it's about what I know, so if dumbasses like you won't do me the courtesy of expanding my knowledge, then how do you expect me (or anyone else) to understand your point? Do you think that just because you say something that we will all throw our own experience out the window to accommodate your point of view? That's not how it works, you have to convince people and the easy way to do that in this case is to provide a compelling example.I mean thank´s for your post but it´s again more about what YOU think is useful or not. So don´t bother to answer or question to any of my posts. Have a nice day.
Just because people are idiots doesn't mean they don't sometimes have a valid point from which we can all learn, it just means it is often much harder than it needs to be to draw it out of them.If people here make you so sick you might expand your foe list as well.

Do you honestly believe there is a PA system in the world that can reproduce those kinds of frequencies? Of course there isn't. In fact I doubt there are too many audiophile system that could and they certainly couldn't reproduce it at levels that would be harmful to anyone's hearing. All the energy would be going into the lower frequencies, there would be very little available for the 30kHz band. After all, if it was an easy thing to do, don't you think they'd be using it for crowd control?perfumer wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 1:44 pm There's an issue with extremely low and high frequencies, though. As they are inaudible, but ARE there, they could do one or both of two things: damage your equipment or damage your ears. Imagine hitting the crowd in your gig with a 30 kHz detuned supersaw, at max. volume. No survivors, life in prison, end of story.
Sadly, I don't think there are too many people around here who have any brains to seep out.cytospur wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 5:40 pmDon't listen to any trumpets. They'll burst your ear drums and your brain will seep out.

Of course I don't but Cinebient wants high frequencies, so I just gave an example "what if". There's a reason why most equipment cuts off at 20-22 kHz and I know it, but does he?BONES wrote: Fri Dec 28, 2018 1:27 amDo you honestly believe there is a PA system in the world that can reproduce those kinds of frequencies? Crowd control - there are stun grenades, some of which use light, and some use sound. It's not only loudness that's hitting you, but also it's not limited to a certain frequency range. So those highs that I was talking about are there. And that's for civil purposes. Have you heard about the American diplomats in their Cuban embassy getting headaches and unexplainable illnesses and having to be recalled... One hypothesis was a sonic weapon's been used on them.

perfumer wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 1:44 pm is there a list of known bugs/issues somewhere? I briefly looked at the company forum, and some users report some things, but it will be better to have a list confirmed by the developer. Some companies do that, and Dune is a big project, so... please!
I couldn't figure out if you're replying to me or not, but as it's on topic of my post, let's assume you did.AnX wrote: Thu Dec 27, 2018 5:53 pm i think if ppl do find possible bugs, they should post them on the SA forum, with full details of how to reproduce. Look, it's not whether someone thinks he's found a bug and where to post it. It's about bugs and issues Richard himself is aware of.

it was a general reply, to try and help ppl get possible probs looked at rather than drowned in this thread
i cant guarantee SA will do anything, but it will be more visible

I assume a known bugs list wouldn't make for a good marketing.
But since release several quick hotfixes had to be made ASAP, so I think it's only natural to ask for one.
As you know, casual users cannot find under the hood issues, or such that require special equipment for measuring things - but he can. And they can't track everything that's been reported - but he can.

Would probably miff the people who just upgraded a few weeks ago when it came out! I think if there was ever going to be a sale it would have been on launch....HcDoom wrote: Fri Dec 28, 2018 5:23 pm Any chance for lower upgrade price for new year event? Pretty please...

Can't see it being discounted any time soon. It would seem the business plan was to focus on existing D2 owners, and milk them with the upgrade. A missed opportunity to gain new D3 customers with an intro price over the xmas period.
