I would love you to be wrong too, but I doubt you are. The Product Manager role is a revolving door. Representatives introduce themselves then disappear on the forums. A wodge of different staff and devs pop up from time to time and then never seem to follow anything up. The marketing and websites are a constantly reinvented mess (the current iteration is actually better than the last). Look at the main marketing/box image for X4 - a close up of a Behringer mixer. Please. Are they employing children in they're marketing department? Half of my legit support enquiries (on the expensive Sequoia maintainence contract) go unanswered. Basically, the standard corporate thresher where every new exec has a new plan while they briefly stop by, institutional knowledge is lost, and no-one is really invested in the customers - they are more focussed on surviving the next restructure, and getting a better gig. If it wasn't for Kraznet holding it all together from a user engagement perspective. After Brexit they should give him honary German citizenship ha ha!

This unhinged rant comes to you from a loyal Magix customer of some not few years (but I would jump ship if I could). I paid them a lot of money, and I made a lot of money with their product. But I'm now one of the perpetually grumpy zombie users.

Paf!

It's such a shame! :-(

As far as I understand, they were always a small team. SAW Studio was one person, Reaper is several.

What do you want from the app, anyway? It can record and edit audio and MIDI, mix and master, even burn CDs. Yes, some of its functionality is quite dated (e.g. audio restoration), but... there's always The Future. And what it does, it does right.

Newsflash: Bedroom producers want every functionality under the sun for 100 bucks. Not going to happen.

You seem to know a lot about this - I don't.

But I fail to see the relevance to this thread anyway. Last I checked even the current upgrade alone was significantly more than "100 bucks", so I really wonder what your rambling is about. Are you perhaps in the wrong thread, bedroom-producer"? This thread isn't about FL Studio. ;-)

Sorry, I don't know what you are rambling about. This is the product. Don't like it - move on. You seem to be in every Magix bashing thread. Save yourself some effort.

"Magix bashing thread"

Poor poor Magix fanboi - it must hurt a lot, doesn't it? :hihi:

I was thinking of buying samplitude, especially with their $200 free upgrade to pro x4, plus soundforge and spectralayers. Then I was on the forums checking things out (in October I think) and in one of the threads Kraznet was taken by surprise about pro x4's release because they hadn't contacted him about beta testing. So he contacted magix for an update, and they hadn't started beta testing yet, about 1 month before release. It sounded like the idea of testing a release took Magix by surprise. So no beta testing means no development to speak of, and garbage management. I bought Studio One.

About a month before release they sent out a survey asking what improvements and features users would like to see.

This behaviour does sound a bit damning :hihi:

This is what I am hoping.

I purchased the Samplitude upgrade to Pro X3 Suite about two months after release and, in addition to the lower price, I missed out on receiving SpectraLayers.

Maybe it is this:

---------- Software development ------------------------
SAW Studio: 1 person
Reaper: 2 persons

---------- Marketing, Product-Management, Office ---
Magix (Samplitude etc.): 50 persons (fluctuating, estimated)
Reaper: 0 persons.

Hi all,

I've been using Samplitude Pro X* series since it first came out. I really like the features and ease of use. However, even with the most recent update, they still have very problematic VST3 support in Pro X4 Suite. Sampletank 4 VST3 transposes notes by several semitones upon Save/Load of project as I show here:

and here:

In the most recent update (July 2019), it appears that MeldaProduction VST3 plugins are permanently bypassed after applying the license file to the plugin displayed in Pro X4 Suite (drag/drop license file onto plugin GUI).

My own VST3 plugins occasionally flash or flicker erratically when closing the plugin window.

VST2 versions do not have these weird problems. The most recent update I mentioned seems to actually have made things worse. That's not a good sign!

Users thinking about switching to Samplitude who are using VST3 plugins should probably steer clear of Samplitude Pro X4 Suite, despite good prices, etc. I myself may just give up on it.

Regards,
Dave Clark

Loaded one of the built-in synths (some nice stereo preset with reverb and delay) in Samplitude into the first track as MIDI and to record its MIDI output data.
The second track is an Audio track to record the output audio from the MIDI track (to have it as an audio recorded stereo take).
The third track is an AUX track, following the same procedure as track 2 (taking the audio from the synth, track 1, as input and again to record it stereo).

Please see the screenshot (photo) and listen to the corresponding recorded files.
The audio recorded through the AUX track has some kind of flu, or corona virus. Also, notice it got somehow stretched/pitched down and twice the length as the correct one.

Audio Examples as .mp3 files

You can replicate this bug at your end as well.

Quite interesting... because usually AUX track should be restricted from being able to record audio by definition. At least it is not right if you see how the audio in the AUX got recorded from the example.

Not to mention that sometime the stereo gets lost when start/stop and have to refresh the connection, routing...
