Kate Bush and Björk's debut albums are fantastic.
I'd like to add another female artist.
Jeanne Mas's debut album "Jeanne Mas". All songs on that album are absolutely great.
Those of you who're old enough probably remember this one

I agree with Kate Bush's The Kick Inside; she's a modern poet.
Bringing it up to date, if you like his style of music, listen to Said the Sky's first album, Wide Eyed. Every track a good one, just about perfectly mixed, perfectly produced.

Recorded at Abby Road, the same time Sgt. Pepper was being recorded.
It had to be good.

I've got a mouse, and he hasn't got a house,
I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old,
But he's a good mouse.

Pat Metheny Group [white album] (1978)
Introducing Brad Mehldau (1995)
Amazing right out of the gate. These two releases are STILL in heavy rotation in my collection.
These two artists would later team up for a pair of outstanding albums in 2006 and 2007. Well worth a listen.
Cheers

Thats all pretty much nonsense. Waters wrote songs on everything after Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. Watch "live at Pompeii" sometime. There's a lot of footage of them writing & recording DSOTM.harryupbabble wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 6:23 pm Before Dark Side Of The Moon, Roger Waters was just another member of the band?
But with the Dark Side Of The Moon, Roger became THE lyricist and the main driving force?
David Gilmour was "reacting" to Roger Waters? This means that Roger would do something and THEN David Gilmour would add music to what Roger Waters already did? Most of the time?
Question marks there.

^^^thanks for that! I thought that Roger had fired him for The Wall. When they played it live, Rick was there as a hired player. The tour lost money, but Rick was the only one to make money, lol.
