Hi,

I have cubase 7.5.
Is it worth upgrading to Cubase 10.

What are the significant feature improvements?

Some problems which i was facing with cubase 7.5 were crashing problems, becomes slow when lot of plugins/vsts are added. pops/cracks (not sure if pops/cracks is because of the daw).

PS: I don't use built in plugins. I prefer and use only 3rd party plugins mostly.

How do you know these problems are due to Cubase 7.5 and not your system? Do you have a decently fast system? Audio interface with solid drivers?

I have 32 gigs of RAM, Focusrite 2i4.
I7 5960x processor.

But not sure if the problem is due to cubase or my computer.

But even otherwise, Is cubase 10 worth upgrading?

There’s a trial available - try it out for yourself.

How is anyone supposed to know whether it is worth upgrading for YOU or not.

Not per se (through itself), no. Or everyone would have the same performance. Stability issue may be traced to the plugins, additionally.
10 will not likely solve or exacerbate these.

I just wanted to know if the upgraded features is worth the money.
Nothing wrong in asking for reviews from others before buying/trying something.

And I am asking the opinion of others from their perspective.
They wouldn't be able to say anything pertaining to me. It would be from their point of view if they are willing to share.

Doesn't that highly depend on the buyer?

What if i told you that the upgraded features are worth it, and the next person tells you that it's not worth it at all?

There have been significant GUI updates BTW. Whether you like those changes or not is really highly subjective. I just say that you won't get away with testing it out yourself. Or you might be very disappointed. Or completely delighted. If you like to play roulette.

Sorry, i feel like playing the smartass tonight. :D I really mean what i say though. Demo it. Everything else will end up in throwing money out of the window, and taking a chance whether or not you like what you bought. It's also the least lazy options.

Yes imo. GUI is much better, drag 'n' drop functionality, new video engine, render in place, disabling tracks, better CPU performance (at least on my PC). v10.0.10 rock-solid here with Metagrid on Win 7.

Just install the 30 day trial version and test it yourself. You already own an e-licenser dongle from Cubase 7.5 so you should be able to install and run the Cubase 10 Pro trial.

You are on KVR. Here people will force, flame and persist on their point of view. You can see for yourself. Even after you added valid question in valid place - ton of offtopic nonsense and they are dissecting your question (and should it exist) in the first place.

Surprisingly one answer was normal - try the demo. My opinion is that it's worth it.

On your position be sure to trash (and backup) Cubase 7 preference file because Cubase 10 (trial) will attempt to "import" your preferences from Cubase 7 and sometimes this can screw Cubase 10 experience. It's in their forum.

Actually you better ask same question on steinberg forum. Freedom of talk does not exist there but at last people does not argue over should someone ask something or not like on KVR - therefore steinberg forum topics drift less in nonsese then here.

Good luck.

For me, and considering you are coming from 7.5, it is totally worth upgrading. New things are simply too many to list here. One of them alone simply would justify the upgrade for me - the new plug-in management (VST Plug-In Manager), which you don't have in 7.5.

But I second others suggestion - run the trial and judge for yourself. Before, read what was new in Cubase 8, Cubase 8.5, Cubase 9 and Cubase 9.5 There are a lot of new things to check.

Beware that Cubase no longer supports 32-bit, nor 32-bit plug-ins (bridging is gone).
