What went wrong?

I remember it being difficult to set up and not providing much (if any) benefit over the native version. I could be wrong, though, as I was never a Nebula power user.

Very clever move to release such an AMAZING sounding compressor for free... this one is the best I’ve tried. Already downloaded a few trials from Acustica. I guess you’ll get a new customer.

just... this f**ker is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few days ago I was checking TAN compressor and I noticed something strange. I played my usual test file, 1kHz Sine wave -20 LUFS. With certain settings TAN was adding odd harmonics to the signal. I thought it was caused by built in Pre Amp. However nothing changed when I switched Pre Amp off. I wonder if this was intended or is this a bug. I was convinced that TAN was quite transparent. Obviously with increased gain those harmonics become more prominent. When I increase Ratio, Attack or Release, those harmonics tend to disappear.
This plugin sounds really good and I still like to use it. Perhaps someone could clarify what's happening under the hood of TAN that causes this. I like to know about this type of nuances, especially regarding effects I tend to utilize frequently.

If you want transparency just use an algorithmic plugin.

This is a great point. Acustica plugins are generally not meant to be transparent. Even the Manley emulations have color.

....but with zero analog modeling and only HQ algos involved, which is still quite rare if you prefer affordable ones...

harmonics are not a bug, but all those other noises you can see are results of sampling method involved,
hint-use sine sweep with pre ON and play with gain to see more hidden fouls happening...

Well then can somebody tell me more compressors that add them harmonics because this thing makes everything sound amazing.

Compressor in Izotope Neutron adds some even harmonics, but only in Vintage Mode. Found that out yesterday, wasn't even looking for it. It sounds good.
Klanghelm MJUCjr adds plenty of mojo too. At least it explains somewhat, why tracks sound better when they are put through this amazing plugin. I'm not talking about any extreme settings. Both knobs go a little over 9 o'clock in my setup.
