by the looks of it... and if what they claim is true... choice of hardware would only be for stability / processing power / price...

Wow, sounds interesting. For those who know about this stuff, is it likely to be of much use to us? Are we likely to be able to use our PC softies on Mac, and visa versa?

Sounds nice in theory, but there will be a performance hit. For our application, every CPU percent counts. For other apps, it's probably a good idea.

i think i read somewhere on the site... programs will run at 80% speed. (depending on complexity) 80% is still pretty damn good.

Looking at the specs on their site (and what I've read elsewhere) this currently only works with Unix-based OSes (i.e. Mac OS X, AIX, HPUX, Linux, etc...) no mention of support for Bill Gates' OS (not yet, anyway)...tee boy wrote:Wow, sounds interesting. Not sure if they could emulate the GUI of a Mac, either. Apple releases Darwin (the underlying Unix OS that Mac OS X uses) as Open Source, but not the GUI -- Apple keeps that proprietary...
