That's good to know. It's a bit of a hack and workaround (but a clever one), so there seems to be some limitations - e.g. can't be used to automate effects, can only automate parameters within a single VSTi and is a bit more time consuming to set up.THE INTRANCER wrote: Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:35 pmStudio One 3 /4 has the ability to create what are essentially automation clips and control that automation, as I've shown in this screencast.AdvancedFollower wrote: Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:23 am I picked up FL Studio Producer a few months ago precisely because I was getting frustrated with the automation in Studio One, specifically the lack of automation clips and the way you end up with tons of automation lanes (that you have to edit individually) for even the simplest things.
Will He Dump FL Studio 20 for Studio One 4?!!

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

They make a crossgrade (from any other DAW including Fl Studio) version you can buy right now for $255 in the cart at JRR shop. I just saved you 36% and it's not even during a sale period.

The main thing here is the audio recording along with music making workflow. I have about 20 record ideas done in FL Studio but could nwver get to finishing them as it becomes a 2 daw workflow and a bit tedious with Reaper. Id u qant to make changes to the music portion while recording vocals then well, you get what im saying.
Wirh reaper its a bit of a pain in the midi dept IMHO, and the print effects on input is lacking.
Cubase is also good, i have wlements 9.5 but alas, 48 tracks wont cut it for me, but if it wasbon splice as SO4 is i would've most likely chosen it instead.
Protools is collecting dust and i refuse to even open it unless a client has that as a session file.
So SO4 is so far the perfect blend.
My only quip is the piano roll of FL Studio has no match, not even SO4 is a intuitive in this regard.
It then com s down to getting used to the new way if it
turns out to keeping SO4.
All of this will be documented in the series of course.

Jsp, nice find and thanks!
Getting a replacment vehicle right now is priority, im bussing it 40 miles roundtrip to work, daily losing valuable time for family and music. $17 bucks a month is doable.

I could have replayed the part as well, but i wanted to test the note stretch capabilities up against what i do naturally in FL Studio...LawrenceF wrote: Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:14 pm Lots of wasted effort there when all he had to do was tempo map the chords he played.
However...
Tempo map them in what way with out changing the tempo?
Please explain, sounds interesting.

Cool videos. It's almost like a reality series, but with DAWs. Gotta watch part II tonight. I like the way you're not slagging one or the other, but giving very subjective and honest opinions of how you feel about the workflows. Believe me, I've disliked millions of these videos, but I like what you're doing there. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, i have no need to bash any Daw, I damn near have them all. Cubase Elements 9.5, Reaper, Protools,
Harrison Mixbus, Reason Vst, Cakewalk, FL Studio and now Studio One! Lol
They all have there strengths and weaknesses, including Studio One.
Funny thing is I cut my Daw teeth on Cakewalk Audio back in the day, then came along Fl Studio as an answer to not having a sampler such as an MPC, then once I got into producing people, Cubase became the daw for recording and i got good at its work flow(linear audio) while composing in FL Studio or fruityloops as it was called back then, became the foundation of my music creating energies.
Ive been out of the producing other people business ever since the industry changed to what it is today and have turned to working on my own project and need good audio capabilities and splice has provided an opportunity i couldnt pass up, being married and all!
Sorry for the long rant. Lol

Yes. In that case your playing is setting the tempo so you only need to edit the tempo track to match your playing so that other things later like midi drum patterns will conform to what you played. As you correctly implied, doing that makes sense as it feels more human, not playing to click.YISH313 wrote: Mon Jan 14, 2019 10:30 pm Tempo map them in what way with out changing the tempo?

Ctrl + drag transients (midi notes in your case) to the bar lines in the tempo track to tempo map the 8 bars. Make an arranger block to duplicate it at will.
