For my installation of Live, all of the directory locations (e.g. Temporary Folder, Cache Folder, VST Plug-in Custom Folder, User Library, and Installation Folder for Packs) are located on a hard disk that is NOT the same as my C:/ drive, which is the Live program installation disk.
If I ever need to reinstall Live, which gets done semi-regularly in my case because I'm nuts, I just simply change the default directory paths in Preferences to point at my custom folders. All work well EXCEPT the one for Packs.
All the Packs have been installed in my custom folder. However, when I point Live to this Pack folder in Preferences, it does not populate the Packs in the Browser. All of the Pack names are in the Browser, but each Pack cannot be expanded to show their contents.
Is there a way to rebuild this Pack list without having to install each Pack again?

I don’t think so. I remember this happening to me once, and that was the only way I could get it to work. Basically, I defined a new path for the packs and reinstalled each one. It didn’t take that long to reinstall, though. One thing can be said for Ableton: they have very fast servers. I could be wrong. Someone may have found a better way to do it but, it wasn’t all that painful for me.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with Ableton having fast downloads. I just downloaded and installed version 10.0.5 very quickly.W23 wrote: Sat Jan 12, 2019 11:14 pm I don’t think so. Upon further review, the Packs seem to have auto-populated to show all the files now. I think it may be working. The only thing I did was restart Live a couple times for various other reasons. So maybe all it takes is to restart the program.
