Hello,
I was wondering if you can use fl studio without patterns. I want to create a track and have that track be on its own and 2nd track on its own. Basically however Cubase, logic cakewalk sonar is. I feel like flstudios pattern adds extra work for no reason.

Sure, you can just use the playlist. Turn snap off, use Edison and the piano roll if you like, and you're good to go.
(Sidenote: People continually complain about the workflow in FL and I just don't see the issue. Yes, it's different than Cubase and Sonar so it's got a learning curve, but one is still able to do the same things that other DAWs do. On the other hand, maybe the workflow isn't a big deal to me because I've been using FL since 2000.)

Hi Russell,
I get that part, but how do I say insert a soft synth and have it be tied to say on the playlist Track1 and then I add another soft synth and have it be tied to track 2 on the playlist. Basically every audio or synth track that i add i want it to be tied to a track list without messing around with the patterns up and down. I'm guessing it's not possible?

omg thank you Elektronisch,
Been wanting this feature for soooooo long. People who come from other DAWS work this way. Looks like finally they are realizing this workflow is needed.

yep, lots of people are going to wake up to FL now.
and many people who liked Fl 9-11 but switched at 12 will kick themselves in the nuts for their lack of faith and patience...
they know what they're doing over at IL
