If I mute a track I only want the recorded notes to be muted. But I still want to be able to play notes live on the same channel! (this is good when you want to try some other notes or chords with the same instrument)
Is this possible? I remember this was the standard setting in logic way back.

Mute the regions, not the track/channel.
In old-school Logic, muting a track and muting a channel were two different things (although there was a preference to link them), but it seemed to confuse people (ugh!), so one of the things they did for LPX was to make them the same (annoyingly enough) and remove the preference. They introduced the track "Power" button to do what the old CPU-saving mutes did.

Thanks! They should change so it's only muted when playing arrangement. Signal should always go thru so you can play live and easy listen to what's instrument on different channels.
