Look - why are you all listing such second rate drivel?

The one and only number one guitar solo of all time is undoubtedly and scientifically proven to be.........

the buzzcocks - what do I get.

Post

so you think you're the best already? :?

One of the guitar-soli which touched me the most is the second one from 'comfortably numb' then there's 'firth of fifth' and Marillion's (e.g.) '100nights' oh and Camel's echoes :D - and lots of other stuff.

claptons' second solo in 'crossroads'

Got to be either:

Wilko Johnson's one note solo in "Walking the Dog" on the Dr Feelgood "Stupidity" album

or

Frank Zappa - "Muffin Man" or "Inca Roads"

or

Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe) - "Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape"

or

Robert Fripp (guesting with The Roches) - "Hammond Song"

One thing I know for sure - it isn't any of mine!

Regards,

Derek.

I said Ollie Halsall did my fav guitar solo but that's closely (very closely) followed by any Neil Young solo from Ragged Glory Technically they are f#cking awful, they sounds like he's playing with his feet, but jeez, what a guitar sound  :o :D (I  that album hugely )
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

I'd add

- David Gilmour's second solo in Pink Floyd's "The Turning Away",

- Eric Clapton's solo in The Cream's "White Room", and

- Mark Knopfler's "Sultans of Swing" second solo to

- David Gilmour' second solo in Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" and

- Eric Clapton's second solo in The Cream's "Crossroads"
Being paranoid doesn't necessarily mean they aren't after you.
