Yes, NI have many times more products now than in 2004. At some point it made sense to them to broaden out the package to different versions, but they kept the name. There was a good gag about it a few years ago when they first released Ultimate - someone mocked up an Inkomplete poster and they put it on the office wall at Berlin HQ. Cute. But only on KVR at this point is any of this worth 5 pages of a thread, with only about 5% of the posts discussing the new actual product.

Um, no. Here's what I think is new as compared to the original players:

TRK-01 BASS
LAZERBASS
CARBON 2
SPACE DRONE
NEWSCOOL
KONTAKT PLAY SERIES SELECTION - streamlined versions of ANALOG DREAMS, ETHEREAL EARTH, and HYBRID KEYS.
KINETIC TREATS
SUPERCHARGER
EXPANSIONS SELECTION - 1,500 loops and samples

Plus the Players themselves always were a pretty good thing. I think this is a great set for folks starting out.

I got some of those as separate freebies from the players, as I now have most of that. But it will be nice to have a unified KK for everything.

That Kinetic Treats was a holiday freebie for Kontakt Player a couple years ago, but I don't think it has been offered again. It is a lot of fun to play with!

I don't expect a full studio. For example, there is no DAW in Komplete, so it's not a studio. (When they add in Maschine Essentials, they're getting there - but it's a different bundle).

How do you explain that "Komplete Ultimate Collectors Edition" is *more complete* than Komplete?

To clear up the Konfusion: NI reads "komplete" as "all the (software) you need" adapted to different type of users from the teen who got his first computer inherited to the fully blown film score composer...
For me its the glue to the world of K12 and my K11 just for KK...
All others parts I own already...
