Dan, hi!

I really liked Sampler. I wanted it for a long time.

1. I do not have enough autoplay, if you choose a sample in the folder. It would be more convenient to listen to the sample immediately when selecting the folder.

2. If the root key is not known (for example, for drums), then it was more convenient to enter the option without the root key (note as it is).
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

As far as I understand, this is not possible without implementing a custom file browser. Currently the Load button just opens the default system file dialog, and the Sampler module doesn't know what is happening in there, it just gets the filename after you choose it. But I agree that autoplay while browsing the files would be nice! Maybe the good guys at CA will find a way. :)

Maybe a helpful tip (maybe not): I'm now using Loopcloud client as my sample browser/organizer and just drag'n'drop them onto the app/sampler.

...uh which reminds me, I didn't try that when briefly checking Sampler I.
Must check if VM supports drag'n'drop as soon as I get home :)

Nope :( there's no (sample) drag'n'drop support in Vintage Modular

errr... I feel another feature suggestion/request coming

Please, add (sample) Drag'n'Drop support to Vintage Modular, so we can drag'em into the new sampler modules, please, please, please :hyper:

Post

multisamples and drag and drop would be nice

Speaking of Sampler I ...it just crashed :/ while trying to load a 2nd sample (96KHz 24bit Stereo WAV) replacing the 1st one loaded (44.1KHz 24bit Stereo WAV).

Here's a feature I'd like to see: A hosting/shell module for VCV modules, doing whatever's needed to fully access any of these and allowing seamless interaction for it with the VM Universe.

Maybe this is already possible with some clever workarounds, or…?
Comments welcome!

I just got an email from PSP about their collection, which had this intriguing line, which I need help understanding, please:

"To use our modules you don’t need to buy any additional libraries, Voltage Modular will be automatically added to your account."

In short, what are the minimum VM requirements to be able to use the PSP collections? I'd assumed one would need to also buy some bare-minimum VM/CherryAudio platform stuff to put them all in, yes?
TIA!

Yeah, you don’t need anything. But, you’ll largely be limited to using vm as an effect, aside from being able to use some of them(psp) as oscillators if you can figure it out.

I am seriously considering it myself, actually. Quite likely, I will do just that.

Cool, thanks! It does look tempting, esp. considering that the PSP sale ends this month, while the CherryAudio $99 bundle is discounted until June, apparently. I'd love to hear any more thoughts from you (and anyone, of course) about getting the most from the PSP collection alone!

So, with only the PSP collection, it would be possible then to also add selected single modules from any other VM makers to that, I suppose…

But to access any of the "Core" VM tools, you need to get a CA bundle, too, it looks like.

Thanks again!

Regarding sampler features...

- Preview from the load window may be do-able later on.

- I'm not sure if we can implement drag and drop loading - I don't think VM can "see" drag and drop functionality on a per-module basis, if that makes sense.

- keymaps/zones could hypothetically be done, but it would make the interface far more complex. Think about any other virtual sampler such as Kontakt or Logic EXS24: they all have separate keymap windows/menus, etc. Besides, implementing all the real-time start/end/loop point CV mod could be a mess (and the wave display... it's all hurting my brain :) )

Post

Honestly, it would be nice if they would consider some alternative bundles, utility and whatnot.

Anyone have any opinions on the Random Task module? Is there any video or audio examples?

Erica Synths is releasing a module next month that allows you to install two samples, or loops (via SD card). It’ll slice and timestretch, and you can mangle the slices playback order, switch between the loops, or loop slices, etc. Kind of interesting, really. The interface only has like, 6 knobs, and 10 CV in/outs. I was trying to find the demo video I saw this morning to share but, now I can’t find it because I want to. Lol! It’s pretty simple but, there was a fair amount of mangling going on. It would be cool to be able to take a short drum loop and at least make 8 transient slices, and then maybe use an LFO module (or 3) to mess with playback order, length, pitch, time stretch, etc

Well, then I guess we need to rely on a future browser with preview, if there's no way to make the drop context-sensitive regarding the module being mouse-hovered :/
