I'm hanging out for SS2...

But my honest advice for you is to MAKE SOME MUSIC!

Seriously - you've got shitloads[1] of gear. You can make a lot of music with that! You don't need anymore software - you just need to spend time using it!

Of course, that assumes you actually want to use it to make music. :)

If you're a collector ... well ... you'd better get SS2 anyway. :D

Forever,

Kim.

I agree - what the hell are you looking at new gear for?

Are you intending to be the next spokesman for GAS or something?

Look at that stuff!

The advantage of SonikSynth2 is going to be the same advantage of SonicSynth which is the work done on the content.

I don't really know if the engine (other than some plastic surgery) is offering anything new over the ST 2 engine which you already have, but from a content point of view you're clearly in Squids territory and that's always made this range desirable.

ooo..forgot to mention Gigastudio 2.5 and Eve

As you probably gathered I like to spend a bit of me hard-earned on PC music software :D

This time I think it's really time to put my foot down.

So as a favour to myself (and family) I'm NOT going to buy SS2 (sorry Squids).

Now, time to make some music....... :clown:

True, you can make a lot of music with all of that gear. But, you may like the sounds of Sonik Synth 2 which will be different than the sounds you already have. So... good to keep an open mind I think. Even if you have a lot of gear. I have even more than that but I still use SS2.. although I made it so it is to my liking!

Basic channel: since you seem to have every other plugin ever conceived, I see no reason for you not to get SS2 as well.

Good point...

To much choice is not a good thing IMO. That's alot of gear. It's better to pick a few vsti's.

You have eneryXT so you can definately come up with some amazing sounds and combos. Anyway , for myself the less gear I have to use to get the job done the better. I find it better to work with the sound rather than searching through every vsti. You'll learn more and come up with somthing cooler most of the time.

If you had all that equipment as hardware surrounding you , where to begin? Big headache.

Here's my list.

Korg Legacy collection
Sampletank , Sonic Synth
Imposcar
Ravity
Fm7

This will probably last me the next 10 years.

Mush, I agree. I'm far more productive now that I've cut down on the number of tools I use.

My list is even more spartan:

SampleTank2 (with various libraries and custom samples)

... and that's it!

Forever,

Kim.
