PFFFFF... This sounds like a freaked-out guy (the one who wrote the article).
He IS there to fix bugs implement new features AND work his ass off.
If that's his job, why the hell does he talk about his customers that way?
I think he should change his job for something he can hanlde.

I thought so too, but it was just too over the top to be for real. Then I looked at the bottom of the page. :-De-phonic wrote:PFFFFF... This sounds like a freaked-out guy (the one who wrote the article).

I love his rant.
It's so true! We're all toe-rind chewing cousin f**kers who play banjo for kicks (in between rooting through rubbish dumps for bits of metal.)
And like he requests, I'm taking my teeth out now...squeal piggy piggy.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I agree with the title.
You don't need much to make songs, an instrument or 2, a cheap mixer.... oh, and some songs and talent.
Software is a TOOL and NOT a collectors item....or does anyone here collect hammers and screwdrivers and go to the shop everyday to see if there are any new models in just to slam in that nail in a nicer way?

I made a nice pseudo-ambient/industrial piece using only the pencil tool in Sound Forge and arranged in Acid. It was featured as one of Sonic Foundrys "8-Packs" of the week a few years ago.
Hell, just give me a copy of Neon and I'll come up with something interesting.
I have as much hardware as I do software, and I never feel the need to bitch about any of it. Lately I've been working on a song using nothing but the Futureretro 777. I'm working on some interesting patches in Reaktor, and thinking about building my own analogue modular synth from scratch.
In short, I see no limitations. Only possibilities. Damn that sounds like some cheesy slogan from an inspirational poster one would find stuck up on the dingy walls of some aging corporation.
Q: "Employee morale is at an all time low... what should we do?"
A: "Put up some posters of sunsets and rainbows."
Anyway, the original rant upon which this whole discussion was based is a hoax, so I say we declare the topic null and void.
