Aren't they some more or less basic delays? 😬
I don’t think so. Neither is “just” a delay in the first place. I’ll try to keep this brief but I highly suggest a demo. The presets are very well made, and it’s easy to program.

Modnetic is a three tap delay with a great convolution reverb and selectable modulation effect, chorus/flanger/phaser, all with selectable routing. There is also a master character parameter which changes the character of each engine, from subtle to extreme, including the type of noise (which can be mixed out complètely.

Diffuse is a delay/reverb effect capable of generating very unique spaces. There is a unique pump parameter which is different than usual ducking. The character here is determined by the type of movement. There is also extensive tone control.

Another totally under the radar delay effect is the Doepfer A-188-1 BBD module for Softube Modular, which is to be expected because it seems that SM is kind of hated. But if you like delays, then this module and the core are pretty amazing in terms of the character that you can get and flexibility in crafting interesting delays.
