Hell is indeed freezing over, even I am interested in Bitwig 3 :P

I currently have 2.4 installed in demo mode, as my update plan expired before 2.4. What annoys me the most is that Bitwig does not reset controllers on exit like other DAW's do.
This is especially annoying with Komplete Kontrol MK2, as it keeps the controller in MIDI mode and switching it off and on does not help. Only things that fix it is restarting the NIHostIntegrationAgent or reboot my PC.

I wonder if this is an issue with Bitwig or with the extension from Moss. My guess it's Bitwig, cause I remember it did the same thing back in version 1.x with officially supported controllers that did not need an extension to work.

If this is not another sign for Ableton I do not know what is. I suspect all the good developers are at Bitwig now hence the extremely slow development. For almost a year all they released is some 3rd party packs and some Max4Live Devices.

Right. I'm on the beta forums as well and "funny" thing is that a lot of people that were previously loudly voicing their dissatisfaction with certain Ableton's decisions or were complaining about bugs or not working features, have now become mods or admins there and completely changed their tune.

I just agreed with a friend to sell him my Live 10 Suite license, because even if there was no Bitwig, what they did with v10 is beginning of a downfall: it's become slow, unresponsive, unstable, cluttered and klunky (M4L is still bolted on, there's just no flash screen)...

BTW, I don't think Mr. Bill will switch over completely, but at least this experience will open his eyes to what could've been and he'd start bugging Ableton to steer the ship around. Maybe they'll listen to him, because sure as hell they don't listen to regular users at least you're somehow successful in convincing a lot of people to vote for your feature request by making enough stink around the issue...

Excuse me i am genuinely asking who is Mr.Bill and why is it important that he uses Bitwig? Why hell is frozen now?

Am i getting this correctly (from other thread info) - Mr.Bill is previous Ableton developer or something?

What do you expect from companies that take on the buying out of 3rd party technologies that are bolted on? Reminds me of another "slow, unresponsive, unstable, cluttered and klunky" DAW, FL Studio.

Bitwig started from well thought out plans and direction, followed by innovations and technologies that integrated seamlessly with highly efficiency code.

Ableton Live and FL Studio are past tense in the discussion of modern approaches to music making.

What I've seen from FL is that it's fast, nimble and efficient. But it is cluttered with multi-level drop down menus everywhere and general chaos. I think it's one of those DAWs that succeeded at reinventing itself, despite its heritage (I remember the early days, when it was a toy really).

You know my opinion about Waves.

BTW, how is it possible you're a sensible person when discussing DAWs, but get crazy-eyed talking about CLA MixHUB ;) :P :hihi:

+1
Well said, I agree.

@ fortune teller Slow, klunky, unresponsive? Not sure what DAW you were actually using, but that sure doesn't dound like FL Studio. I do agree that FL can get cluttered, but once you learn it inside and out, it's more than managable and there are DAWs on the market that are much more cluttered.

I must say that IL has somehow improved performance a lot with recent updates. Synths that were really sluggish in it before, like Iris 2, are running a lot smoother now!
The whole messy workflow thing does tempt me to switch to Bitwig, but I'm used to it now, drop-dows, floating panels and all :hihi:

Bob's your Uncle. Billy's your Aunt.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Nothing innovative, new or exciting for a decade. It's a fancy beatmakers' sequencer, not my cup of tea.

Ableton still no VST3 in the year 2019? Reminds me of another slow to release features company.
We’re aware that some Live users are keen to see VST3 implemented, but we are unable to share specific plans until we have software that is ready to release. This is important to us as we seek to avoid misleading people by over or under-promising on what we will deliver.
