While rewriting the manual for StiX 1.5, where I link some chapters to some YT tutorials, I rediscovered an ancient tutorial I made about StiX Eazy Synthesis page features ( Special Macros like Stretch, Custom users macros etc) and I thought it could be interesting to link it there.
What it shows imho is that :
* Only using the Eazy Synthesis page Macros and various knobs you can do a lot of things
* The Eazy Synthesis page is very intuitive. Let's not forget it allows much more control for each sound than any ancient legendary drum machine, like the tr808/909 etc, but also early digital units like LinnDrum, SP1200 etc.
* Imagine what you can do with the Advanced synthesis page (more than130 parameters for each sound)
* Some drum machines offer different 'Drum models' for different sounds. In StiX, every drumpad can be considered as a 'Drum Model', with custom macro controls. In version 1.5, you'll have access to nearly 800 different drumpads (drumsounds). This is a lot of 'Drum Models'.

Thanks for drag n drop midi export, really appreciate it.
There is a problem with it though, it seems the 1st sub-division you export plays every drum, i've tried several different presets.
Ableton Live 10, mac, High Sierra.

I am getting similar behaviour on Windows 10 with Ableton 10.simmo75 wrote: Tue Jan 29, 2019 6:32 pm Thanks for drag n drop midi export, really appreciate it.

I have tried dragging and dropping the same pattern several times
with different results. The first few times I only got a few notes
at the start of the pattern, then it eventually filled out all the notes
but almost everytime it's either missing the first few notes or it
does what Simmo75 mentioned.

To be sure : What you mean is that on the exported pattern, the first step of the first beat is populated for all drum sounds right ?bob swans wrote: Tue Jan 29, 2019 7:11 pmI am getting similar behaviour on Windows 10 with Ableton 10.simmo75 wrote: Tue Jan 29, 2019 6:32 pm Thanks for drag n drop midi export, really appreciate it.

Hmmm That's curious. I just tried in Cubase/windows and it works ok each time. It was anticipated that there could be a problem in a particular daw with this kind of function, but here it's different os/daws etc.
Could you please try the following : 1/ Daw sequencer stopped 2/ Click on the icon d'n'd pattern (don't drag'n'drop it directly, just select the function) 3/ Only then Drag'n'drop the pattern anywhere in the Daw.
Edit : hmmm its the same daw btw, maybe it's a Live thing, we'll see.

It probably is a Live thing, I'm on Live 10.0.5 by the way.Lotuzia wrote: Tue Jan 29, 2019 7:40 pm To be sure : What you mean is that on the exported pattern, the first step of the first beat is populated for all drum sounds right ?

I´m unfortunately not able to try the demo currently (health reasons), but I´m still tempted by the promo price.
Would Stix make a good replacement for Fxpansion´s (abandoned) Tremor (which I don´t dare using anymore as it can theoretically break-and-not-be-fixed with any OS Logic update)?

The main differences between StiX and tremor are :
1/ Tremor is unfortunately abandonned. StiX has active developement.
2/ StiX can use samples and Cross Synthesis, so it's more like an hybrid machine blending Tremor (only synthesis) and Geist (only samples) capabilities.
Else, well, there are not legions of multi synthesis drum machines. StiX and Tremor have different powerful sequencers, and deep synthesis engines, and doesn't sound similar 1:1. Best is to listen to sound examples and watch tutorials until you can try the demo I think.
