It is cleaner looking than the original which is good, but I'm not a fan of the overall greenish grey background and the pastel green accent color. Looks like some dirty military hardware.
Instead of the green theme maybe blue would be better.

The pastel shades and all backgrounds in grey make depressive. Hive 1 interface had energy and encouraged me to tweak it, but this looks like a tool for my grandmother
I feel I don't want to open it more often that I'd need to.
Like the idea of color coding the FX, but it's too much. The rectangular display in the diagonal shaped LFO sections are ugly, Hive1 had a knob that fitted into this corner. OSC & FILT looks a bit overwhelming while the rest of the screen feels more empty.

I like it more then original, but it does feel unfinished?
Also it does remind me a bit ZebraHZ, Hive 2 skin also will be vector based (sorry if i said it wrong)?

It is unfinished, absolutely. Hence a capital WIP on itElektronisch wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:33 pm I like it more then original, but it does feel unfinished?

One of the reasons I don't like them is his choice of fonts. Look for example for the DIVA title - it looks simply horrible - it almost suggests the title is DIV A. And the font chosen in this skin is once again, ugly and unadequated.mcbpete wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 11:44 am I don't like Plugmon skins ....I fuckin' love 'em ! The AIKO skin for Diva might be my fave GUI for any VSTi I own
Clear, functional, unobtrusive skeuomorphism and greatly improves my workflow from the base skin

I looks lovely to me. Modern and intuitive. Without too much hype and screen allocation.Urs wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 1:25 pm Not finished in terms of contrasts and stuff, but a rough glimpse at what we're going for:
Thoughts?
(we've got until, say, early April to change things...)
By the way, I do would like to have the option to have mouse-over info/comment box on each component. Going back and forth to the manual to check is a bit tedious, esp for demo/new users.
For example a short explaination of each mode: Normal, Dirty and Clean would be nice to have when hovering the mouse for 2 seconds (optional of course). For some one starting out with Hive it's not obvious that it actually has three entirely different filter models and very different behaviour.
Personally don't need it but I think more people would "get" what it can do while demoing.

My quick impressions:
1. Some good functional improvements
2. Effects would be better suited in a tab at the bottom of the GUI and laid out horizontally like RePro or the Plugmon Hive skin IMO.
3. Would be great if FX Bypass was visible when browsing presets, at either the top or bottom of the GUI. Would let users quickly audition the patch completely dry.
4. Curious what the wavetable editor looks like and how it fits in. Kinda like it in the Hexagon.
5. Colors and overall appearance are a little drab. Very Dark Zebra. Hive, especially post WT, feels like a bright synth. Current UI reflects that better IMO.

Definitely agree with the kerning there - The 'A' for sure needs shuffling to the left a bit. Think we'll have to agree to disagree about the typeface itself though, really like it (not sure what 'unadequated' means)fmr wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:39 pm One of the reasons I don't like them is his choice of fonts. Yep, loads, but we have to test this in depth.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:58 pm My quick impressions:

When they are in the bottom, we have to bring the ModMatrix out of it. And that's the thing I dislike most of the Plugmon skin. Functional, sure, but inviting... not so sure.2. Effects would be better suited in a tab at the bottom of the GUI and laid out horizontally like RePro or the Plugmon Hive skin IMO.
I'm fairly sure that's been discussed, not sure where it goes. In any case, bypassing FX will also keep FX bypassed while browsing presets. So it might not be necessary to access it easily from the preset browser.3. Would be great if FX Bypass was visible when browsing presets, at either the top or bottom of the GUI. That's not a wavetable editor, it's a modulation source.4. Curious what the wavetable editor looks like and how it fits in. Kinda like it in the Hexagon.
It's going to be much easier on the eyes than the current skins, and of course once its done it'll be fine tuned with colour grading stuff.5. Colors and overall appearance are a little drab. Very Dark Zebra. Hive, especially post WT, feels like a bright synth. Current UI reflects that better IMO.

I guess I'm not as picky as many of you. Then again, not like I do music for a living, and mostly just tweak presets for short periods of time
I'd get used to any colors within reason, what matters way more is how tedious getting around is. And fonts? The question is: can my old eyes read it? They can? Then I"m good
My main color beef is that my DAW (Logic Pro) is dark gray, with no way to change it. I really wish there were easy "themes" like Ableton Live always offered (I assume it still does). So a dark gray synth, as many are, sitting on a dark gray Logic window is not something I really like.
I definitely fall on the "make it vector, resizable and colors whatever you want" side of things. Sure it can look a little less polished but it's what I prefer.

No, I got that (the modulation). I meant I'm curious in seeing how the "not visible from the teaser" Wavetable editor fits into the GUI. Where it goes, how it looks, etc.Urs wrote: Wed Jan 30, 2019 3:07 pmThat's not a wavetable editor, it's a modulation source.4. Curious what the wavetable editor looks like and how it fits in.
