unless you're actually getting underruns, ignore Live's cryptic performance meter... it's only there to scare you away from using your plugins.

Yes, crackles, and audio stopping from even a single doing Dune 2 instance. However, this is with a 4K TV attached via HDMI. This is less now, but can still only get four or five instances Max of any synth, even hive which is very low CPU. Something is up...

If you recently added your sample collection to Places or installed many new Packs, it could be the background process that scans new added content.

It takes a while for Live to scan the contents of newly added stuff, and the background scanning process uses a lot of CPU.

It takes a while to load too. Is there a way to disable plugin scan at startup?

I only added 2 user folders with around 2 gigs of samples. I hope it doesn't take days to scan them? I'll keep an eye on this. Going back in the studio for more time with push. I'm getting along swimmingly and already making music. I can't do everything I want but still learning.

How do I import and play back a soundscape in wave format? Do I have to always add it to a MIDI track and sequence it then loop it. What if I don't know the original pitch of the sample? I just want to load the sample and let it loop :?

You can disable VST scan with the Options.txt trick, got to add the "-NoVstStartupScan" line:

For the WAV file, you gotta drop it into an Audio Track, instead of MIDI Track.

The Preferences have settings for automatically warping and looping samples (not always desirable), if those are off then you may need to enable "Loop" in the sample manually.

Thanks.

I have a new one. How to I slice to new midi track a drumloop in push 2?

Load Audio Track, hit clip, then browse, then load loop, then hit convert and select Slice Drum to MIDI!

The trick is one has to be in CLIP view to even load samples onto an audio track to begin with!

Is there anyway to have Push 2 Slice to Midi and keep the midi notes like in the software?

I know how to slice it, and convert to drum rack, but it doesn't keep a clip with midi notes which is super handy when you want to keep a loop as it is, but just play with the simpler settings per slice like ADSR etc.
