I've been looking for info on this to no avail. :ud:

The Studio One mixer insert column lets us expand a stock plugin to see and adjust settings. I noticed only a few 3rd party plugins offer "expandable" settings, for instance the BX_opto.

At the same time, S1 has a tool to map plugin interface items to the S1 remote app. Is there something similar to map plugin interface items to the mixer "expand" list?

In short: how can I make 3rd party plugins show their settings in the S1 mixer expanded view?

i've never come across a 3rd party plug that you can expand, it's only the proprietary ones that you can do that with.. as far as in know...

Yeah, it's pretty rare. I tried all my EQs and comps and basically none could be expanded, except for Plugin Alliance stuff.

I'm trying to see how close I can get to a multi-track channel strip that lets me manage eq and comp for multiple tracks at the same time from the mixer window.

Currently with S1 I'm at a stage where it is doable with the stock plugins, but not really convenient.

Studio live maybe

I feel there's a huge disconnect between what I do in mixing and what home-studio hardware mixers have to offer. Take Studio Live, I see a ton of volume faders but few controls for dynamics and effects. In real life I spend 5-10 minutes setting my gain, and 90% of my time working on dynamics and effects. I see a fader board like that and all I see is a ton of dead weight using up space on my desk where I could be placing my coffee.

I'm truly puzzled. Why bother making a "mixing" board for a DAW that doesn't have several rows of knobs and buttons designed to mimic a channel strip, that will map to mainstream plugins and such.

The only thing that makes any sense to me is something like Console 1, and even then you are just working on 1 channel at a time. I find it pointless. I can work on 1 channel at a time on my computer too using the mouse. Why bring in new hardware to have the exact same workflow?

I'll take any pointers.
