Bought Repro from N.I the sound is absolutely right up there but Iv'e only gotten to play with it tonight properly. Only thing I didn't bank on was even tho it sounds like a real Prophet 5 (hence the name Repro) I'm crying out for at least 6 mod slots instead of the 2 available arghhh! @Urs is it possible to add more slots somewhere on the UI in future? (Feature request)
So many things I want to modulate here with this synth.
Legato mode on Repro 5 would have been good too, only Repro 1 has it.
Sound = 10/10

It's definitely been brought up before. I (and probably others) have suggested a simple toggle to show at least an extra couple mod slots (like an A/B view). I'd be fine with 4 even since there are several ways to modulate without the matrix already. But because it's MPE compatible, it really does cry out for a little more than 2 slots. I think URs doesn't want to take away from the simple vintage nature of it because it will make sounds too far away from the original, however once you have any mod slots you've already gone away from that. And I think modulation just gives more expression and doesn't change the fundamental sound. I wouldn't argue with 6 but I'd be happy with 4 as well! And as we've discussed, it wouldn't change the GUI really at all except for that little selector (mod slots A/B/C...). Hopefully we see that some day.rob_lee wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:53 pm Bought Repro from N.I the sound is absolutely right up there but Iv'e only gotten to play with it tonight properly. Bitwig for example is designed to be a modulation junky's dream, but Logic also has a little known tool for modulating just about any soft synth parameter. I'd bet there are solutions in some of the other DAWs as well.

In this picture below I have a preset with the 2 slots filled but I'm crying out for more slots to modulate slot 1 & 2 with an LFO or just something argh!

This long wood panel below, instead of having nothing but Repro written on it could easily have a toggle button on it to be flipped for a whole lot of other mod slots. I just find it a waste of space.

I'd prefer at least 6 mod slots or even more if possible. It doesn't take away the sound of Repro tho IMO I just want to make complex sounds.

Host modulations only work for monophonic sounds though. Well you can modulate a polyphonic sound but not per voice, so it's more like automation of parameters. The bitwig modulation system is great, but doesn't do much good for poly sounds of VSTs.Local Man wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:30 pmWhat DAW do you use?rob_lee wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:53 pm Bought Repro from N.I the sound is absolutely right up there but Iv'e only gotten to play with it tonight properly. Personally I'd put a few little buttons right beside the word Matrix on top, so it would say Matrix A-B-C, or something, where those letters or toggle buttons to switch the pages.rob_lee wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:37 pm

I use Logic but I want to modulate parameters within the synth itself to save as a preset with lots of mods. I'm flicking through the sounds now and most presets have Modwheel assigned to the filter (The Norm) but then that just leaves 1 slot left and that's not enough for me anyways but Repro will make a nice Bass synth with what it has now for me.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:38 pmHost modulations only work for monophonic sounds though. I'm actually liking the Repro 1 out of the two
