I don''t think there will be any more updates. Seems PA doesn't update much to me. And I guess they bought the right for this synth? I'm actually pretty bummed because I think the synth would of had more updates otherwise.

Existing Thorn owner here and just received the 19 usd upgrade voucher too.

Seems a bit shit to me as there are no new features. I also bought it far cheaper than the PA pricing. Is DS Thorn now discontinued and if we want continued support and updates we have to buy into the PA version? What about other DS products?
I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

So we have to pay $19 just to do a licence transfer?

V1.2 offers some small but valuable improvements, the biggest being: if you use the PA version you will be able to use the plugin on 3 computers or USB sticks at the same time.
So I pay $19, and the biggest improvement, is the ability to confine your serial number to 3 activations.
What f**king PLANET are these guys on?

Why don't you wait for a statement from Dmitry himself? Or ask him politely?

Post

Because there's a time limit on the "upgrade" pricing

yeah, they are charging you 20$ to do a license transfer and add copy protections (bloat). i'm also very concerned that they will remove the over sampling and such too. I don't know if any of the PA offerings have over sampling. they sound pretty good, but i don't like that synth they already offer for instance, it could use over sampling. i'm going to need to calm down about this. just, the whole software experience is getting out of hand. it's the edm and the preset mess and everyone is treated like idiots now... the quality keeps going cheaper and cheaper with more restrictions.... ugh. seriously, going to have to give some thought about making a move back to a hardware set up that i can rely on.

Post

a lot of the Lindell plugins have oversampling.

Post

So you think it's exactly as you think and Dmitry won't respond within 1 month?
Usually he replied within hours when I contacted him.
Writing some paranoid stories here is easy though :)

Looks like the plugin mafia is collecting the protection money... :hihi:

WTF?

Billy Joe: Hey Billy Bob, you know what the hell is going on around here?

Billy Bob: Hell if I know. I just came for the clam dip Billy Joe.

Billy Joe: What the hell is that on your chin?

Billy Bob: Sally Mae.

Billy Joe: Oh. Tell her I said hi. Still would love to know what the hell is going on around here.

I got my version for £69 when it came out.

I updated earlier believing it to be an actual upgrade. The only difference is a load of, to be absolutely blunt, useless junk cheesy presets and a little log in screen requiring your email to run the synth.

I feel another “I had no idea this was going on” moment from Dirk in the near future. A $19 upgrade for not much at all isn’t the smartest move.

I am confused and a bit annoyed...Obviously!

This intrigued me though:

V1.2 offers some small but valuable improvements, the biggest being: if you use the PA version you will be able to use the plugin on 3 computers or USB sticks at the same time. You may even share it with a band mate.

Anyone know specifically what that means?
