I think what vurt meant was that he likes rolling around in rubbish at parties.

There's a little bit of coding involved, e.g. to operate the light guide and some specific communication. But mostly it's about tagging presets and adding controller mappings on per-preset base.vurt wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 5:03 pm i dont really understand the whole nks thing, by which i mean what makes one synth nks compatible while another isn't?

After teh sellout, I never felt like opening an instance of their products again. I trust Urs will never go this route as I really enjoy using his synths and fx and the fact that he supports 3 platforms is a huge plus for the users.ATS wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 10:15 am I'm still using all the camel software I bought on PC and no problems yet.

Maybe Bazille & Hive? Or would they be competing products? I personally like the juxtaposition of the (2) from a resource-demand standpoint: one can be quite heavy on the cpu; the other much lighter.Urs wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:52 pmI really don't know. They won't do such an deal with a single synth, and I wouldn't want to do the same deal + Hive again, and I also wouldn't want to put Hive together in some deal with competing products. So maybe rather not.goldenanalog wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:53 pmOk, back to topic: is it possible that Hive could come up as a 1/2 price sale item on NI's site at some point in the future?

Actually, their parties are pretty good. I went to the one celebrating the 10th anniversary of the US office. Of course, it being NAMM week was extra incentive to make the trip out west...vurt wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:10 pmbecause they throw rubbish parties.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

#Fact
Also, if I were to be honest, the most memorable part of the weekend was NI's AR guy and I getting lost on the way back to our hotels from NAMM (we both were staying by the office, but a block away from each other); we were in the wrong lane of the freeway and ended up taking an unscheduled tour of some of the more interesting parts of town while trying to get back to where we needed to be.
