My goal is to get as flat as possible in stages. Right now, still in early first stage

1. Find the ideal location to place the speakers and sub and set up my room how I will be making music and get it as flat as possible.
2. Adjust settings on speakers/sub for peak flatness.
3. Basic Acoustic Treatment - Needs to be portable so I can reuse easily when I move soon. For now, the bare minimum (corner traps, above ceiling, behind monitors)
4. Even things out with system wide windows eq or an impulse response on master output (looking into sonarworks as well).

I'm looking at their Impression series and art panels but having a hard time figuring out the difference between their regular acoustics panels and their bass traps, asides from being thicker. I've seen bass traps in foam than are triangles with 3 sides, so more volume, and was wondering if these might be better than a panel sheet adjoining two corners.

So why does no one here consider sonarworks to fix the frequency response?

because frequency response is the least of the issues...
You cannot fix room with a speaker EQ.
you can flatten the speaker, but then again, why the f**k would you do that is beyond me

check product density. 80kg/m3 will be effective down to around 110Hz.

For anything below, you either need A LOT of room, or a more specialised design like perforated or diaphragmatic design

that waterfall looks pretty damn wet.

If you can find an acoustic engineer and a carpenter it will likely cost a lot less than GIK. where are you located?

Acoustic Panel DIY around 36 dollars, one on GIK 44 dollars.

Sh** gets expensive if you want to go fancy, ie art on the panels and designs on the acoustic paneling, which I think is pretty cool so I'll probably go for it. I need to more research though to know what I'm buying. I'm at a loss what to do with the bass frequencies below 100, I might leave that up to a system wide eq. I don't have space or the will to have 6 feet think bass traps (or the dough).

I've seen some people say they made 4 bass traps, floor to ceiling, for 140, so there might be a thing here afterall DIY (more research).

Is it necessary for the bass traps to go from ceiling to floor. Will it only be half as good? (I'd imagine so...)

as i said, for basses below 100Hz, you need Diaphragmatic or perforated absorbers.
these are expensive from GIK and alike and are usually cheaper ready made.

EQ won't help you with standing waves below 100Hz, you can't EQ physics.

Didn't know that either, looks like the simple solution for sub 100hz isn't even viable. I see.

Those things look huge though, a no go, for now. Am moving soon, not possible to bring with me. I will have to make due.

yeah, im getting a bunch of diaphragmatics for my control room in a few weeks, and they are 40-80kg each
